Watch a shot 5'7" Qawi with a bad knee bounce right hands off Foreman and imagine Rocky had that opportunity..

Does that mean we have to imagine that Rocky was as crafty as Qawi?

there is no way Marciano wins this . Foreman is just too strong for a 190 pound Marciano. It would be similar to Frazier.

Foreman would fit right in with Marcianos best opponents as far as age is concerned, thats for sure

Another short guy not getting creamed. Here is George against light punching Italian guido Trane who was able to stand with George and trade until he got cut. If you exchange Trane for Rocky in this fight George would have been in big trouble. There is no way Trane was any stronger than Rocky, yet George couldn't really man handle his crouching opponent in the way people feel he would against Rocky.

Would you say Rocky was not as strong as Guido Trane?

Foreman is as bad a style match-up possible for Rocky, almost irregardless of age.

No just imagine the higher tempo, Rocky without the knee strap, landing easier, harder and more often. And getting pushed around a lot less.

George Scrap Iron Johnson went the distance with the original George Foreman and he had the same style as Rocky. You don't think Rocky couldn't improve on that? And if you don't, that's okay, at least George was great that time around.

But this is about Bald Foreman.

Qawi was smaller than Rocky and simply nowhere near as good yet with a bad knee he was a difficult assignment. You don't think Rocky would be?

Bald George never beat a great fighter. That version of him should not be favoured over many genuine cruiserweight champions. Moorer seriously flatters him.

Another example of a short fighter not being creamed by Foreman. This one, former super middleweight Everett Martin who fought 14 times at lightheavy was another guy without enough power to make an impression on George. Put Rocky in there, I believe it would be different. There is nothing Everett can do that Rocky could not do better.

Wait, are people shitting on Everett "Bigfoot" Martin now?

Despite ballooning up in weight, he was one of Bowe's chief sparring partners for a time and went the distance with a who's who of heavyweight talent, including a young Wladimir Klitschkko.

The guy was naturally smaller than Rocky though. Marciano never fought at Super middleweight.

Rocky was never knocked out. Nobody can prove he gets knocked out in fights he never had.

For all we know Rocky could be like the sparring partner Everett Martin. Even without the two handed ATG punching power Rocky might also last the distance "with a who's who if heavyweight talent"? Why not? Why couldn't that be the least he could have been?

Old Foreman seems to come between people and their good senses.

People just can't get their heads around the fact that it is an old man, who used to be George Foreman.

Foreman's accomplishment in winning the lineal title at the age that he did is staggering, but we have to be realistic here.

He was one of the weakest lineal heavyweight champions in this incarnation, and he would have lost very decisively to any great heavyweight, and many not so great ones.

Qawi wasn't even a heavyweight and a good bit shorter than Rocky and like choc lab said he landed plenty. Also Marciano roughed up and man handled the big strong 6'2 213 joe Louis and also negotiated his still good jab! Not quite as big and heavy as bald George but I believe his jab was better than foremans also I think the 51 Louis was better than a 91 foreman by a long way! He was beating ranked contenders bald George was not. Therefore I think Rocky batters old George until the ref stops the bout around round 10.

This is exactly my point. You are 100% on the money.

It's great what he achieved. The fact that he won the title so many years apart almost give a kind of mythical status. But the hard facts are Foreman getting that Moorer fight when he did was just seen as an easy money deffence against a celebrity boxer, George was so lowly regarded then, there was a respect for him that even he was trading on to avoid actual contenders. And apart from one punch it was a fight George was losing.

You are absolutely correct. That carnation of George would have lost to many average champions.
