I could give you a long preamble, but don’t see where it’s necessary.

Two of the hardest men every to lace ‘em up, two of the most determined heavyweights ever.

Who ya got? How and why?

    Go.

I think Joe Frazier wins a decision in a brutal war. This has to be one of the most exciting fights in history.

Holyfield would put Joe through the ringer. Evander had those crisp combinations and quick hands. The problem for Holyfield IMO is that he would let Frazier get inside and stay inside. I think it would be give and take for much of the fight but Joe lived in there and he would eventually do the most damage.

Both fighters would leave a piece of themselves in there.

I have Holyfield by UD in a long war. I think he's actually better suited to fight Frazier than Ali. Joe hit harder, but I think Holy's counters land more often than his left hook. Joe might get him out of there around nine or ten but if he doesn't Holyfield probably takes it.

Holy **** I swear I didn't read a word of your comment till after I posted mine. I reached a different conclusion but yours certainly isn't far-fetched.

Very plausible scenario. I could see a tight fight either way in the vain you mention. Both fighters would be a wreck after it.

Joe Frazier. Frazier drags Holy into a war he cant win. Holy extremely overrated on this forum while Joe is so underrated its sad.

Knowing Holyfield, he won't have to be dragged. Why can't he win?
Both fighters are probably going to take a lot of punches, and call upon every reserve of their conditioning.

This is exactly what Frazier wants. Holy will come into this wanting to box but it wont happen. Thats to Joe's advantage.

Holyfield IMO would fold to Fraziers body punching.

Despite his reputation, Holyfield even in his prime was not as well conditioned as people like to believe. His overly muscular physique no doubt attributed to that, and Fraziers body attack would put the nail in the coffin.

Starts off as a war, Holyfield getting an early lead, Frazier taking over around the 7th and knocking him out in the 10th.

I could see that, if by "knocking out" you mean Holyfield being stopped.

Frazier wins the first one because Hoylfield has a tendancy to brawl. Holyfield wins the rematch by doing tactical adjustments. The third one is anyone's guess

My 2 favourite heavy's ever. Cant see either being stopped, and agree with what a poster above already said. They leave a piece of each other in the ring if it happened. I think its got severe brutal classic written all over it !
