Can anything be done to build Wilder's profile in a short period of time?

Could they not have Wilder on big profile talk shows prime time and promote him that way to the public? Do they already do that, or would they just not want him?

What about being in music videos for famous bands like Klitschko did, would that not work?

I heard he used to be a model, could he not try and sign with some big label? I mean heavyweight champion signs as model for Burberry should get some interest.

Do you think the only real way to build his profile is in the UK because USA is really not that interested?

If you were Wilder's promoter what would you do to sell him and make him more well known?

Its weird actually, how under managed he is.

To be honest, I think it has to do with the people behind him thinking he was someone they were going to build a cheap record with and then cash out on.... and the length of his success has somewhat caught them off guard and left them looking like they havent set him up with a good promotional base, but because they never thought hed actually last this long.

idk... that could be totally wrong, just kinda one of the things I wonder if thats whats going on, because his management outside of the ring has been awful. Then again their management of him within the ring has been fantastic lol (from a business standpoint)

    His own fault.

I've said this multiple times, he should have been what AJ is now.

But he never stepped up, Wlad, Vitali and Haye were all available to be Wilder's 'Legacy' win....he never took any, in fact he got destroyed in sparring by the 2 weakest of the 3 (Wlad and Haye).

AJ took the only legacy fight available, Wlad, and won.

I think America is embarrassed enough by the Donald (or should be). Having another high profile idiot would be just too much. Best keep him safely in Alabama where few people venture, and fewer come out.

How do you build any brand? Advertising, billboards, radio spots on heavily listened to stations. Like if Hearn was promoter of Wilder right now, that video just posted earlier when he was asking fans on the streets, during that video a car/bus/van would be seen in the background with a picture of Wilder raising awareness. Like, I don't even live in London but I know that when big fights are on, posters are everywhere.

I used to see that type of advertising all the time in the states in the 80's and 90's. It just seems to have stopped for some reason.

I hate to break it to you, but no one in the US knows who Wilder or Joshua are, stop acting like the world revolves around that little island of yours, AJ is only world famous, if the known world is the UK. But, but, but, he beat Wlad.... no one cares about Wlad here either. I guarantee if Hearn went around asking people who Wlad and AJ are, no one would have a clue who they are either.

He missed his boat really...that boat drifted away bc hes been on shore for almost a decade ,he must not know how to swim? lol.

Only relevant meaningful and memorable fights can get him what you are asking. Its also fight style....hes not going to be fan friendly unless he can do about 10 Stiverne performances like he did last saturday.

Honestly his management is terrible and Dibella is a world class idiot who does nothing for him either and you cant market someone with a manger like Haymon who doesn't actually put fighters himself out there..wilder altogether is a train wreck in terms of how he was managed and that's a huge part of getting noticed besides actually fighting decent fighters that he had that opportunity plenty of times.

Even IF he were to defeat Joshua ..guess whos still more popular and will attract boxing fans? He needs to pull a magical rabbit of his you know what to flip things around bc hes literally done nothing outside of getting a statue in Alabama. Honestly hes just not intellectually savvy when it comes to this topic.

I would put him on talk shows in N.Y and i would get him in N.Y as often as possible to create media attention doing everything from live events to going to conventions at javits center..etc....These guys have absolutley no idea what they are doing. A major advantage i would have is union connections so i could do all the things im stating.

And forget just promoter i might as well be a trainer too....lol

If I was the manager of Wilder right now I'd be on the phone to Stallone to stick him in a Rocky movie, Stallones a major boxing fan, I'm sure he'd love Wilder in one of its films. That film will be watched by millions, raising awareness. Not bad for a few weeks worth of filming.

Seeing his you tube videos I'd say his handlers probably do a good job keeping him off national television.

Fighting a known and relevant name and winning, preferably by knock out, would probably raise his stock. To bad that never seems to happen.

Wilder could build his profile using his great dress sense to promote a new line of pimp style clothing.

Fighting a known relevant name like who? Povetkin, Pulev, Parker, Ortiz? No one in the US knows who they are either, and I doubt they're household names in the UK. The Heavyweight division is in dire shape, Wilder and AJ both have a far higher profile than anyone they could possibly get in the ring with, and they like I said, are both still relative unknowns.

I remember the scene before Tyson came along, nobody cared about people like Spoon, Page, Tubbs, Thomas or even Holmes. Wilder is more like them than Tyson. He should start driving a pink cadillac to go with his pimp gear.
