Can anything be done to build Wilder's profile in a short period of time?

Kinda sad how overprotective these UK fans are of their roid enhanced hype machine. They know the minute he steps in the ring with Wilder, the hopes of their country ever regaining the heavyweight title will lay in the 500 lbs Tyson Fury. :risas3:

Which is just how Wilder likes them, fat, overweight, beer bellies.

He is in a world of pain when he meets AJ, he has never been in the ring with someone like him. Never.

Yeah, the PED abusers are usually caught before he steps in the ring with them. :deal:

How in depth do you want to get into fight sales? Personally I don't think one can really understand guys like Wilder or even the other side of it with Mayweather without first understanding the origin of the business of sport and boxing, but most people don't give a damn about the 1790s so I'll just mention that I can cover it if you're interested and leave it there.

In as short as I can be with this one, what he's trying to do is the only thing that can make him mainstream; beat the other guy. I don't mean to offend UK fans but the UK has had a total of what like 7 or 8 HW champions period? Including your Henry and Frank....and Haye. Including the very Canadian Lennox, I'm not saying he's not a Brit just that the dude's a Canadian as well and our greats don't share nationalities. My point is England hasn't had many decent HWs since the English Golden era of the LPRR days and of the ones they have had their best is a guy they have to share...with Canada. Of course they get excited easily. Of course Joshua was well hyped before he even went pro. It's a novelty. They don't have a hundred years of dominant champion after dominant champion to compare their current crop to. They have guys like Bruno. They went from the rare decent HW to having the most exalted HWs of an era. Even American boxing fans should be excited by the prospect of two of the best of an era fighting in an all UK affair. When has that happened in gloved boxing? It is exciting. So lack of numbers, lack of talent, and lack of exclusivity makes that market hungry for a big W.

Inversely mainstream America is right to sleep on Wilder. What the **** has Wilder done to wake the nation that produced damn near all the greats and is the exclusive producer of those argued to be the greatest by any exalted outlet? Nothing, and there is nothing he can do to get their attention until he fights someone worth bragging about. Now worth bragging about in the vacuum of the current state of the division, but period. A win that looks good in any era. We're not the UK, we're not Japan...we ain't NZ either. We don't just get excited and lose our **** over the first sign that we might have a fighter that isn't complete ass. Our history is just the opposite. We consistently downplay the greatness of a champion until we're forced into accepting their greatness. We talk about the past until the present is damn near it. Ali was all lip until he became the greatest. Tyson was just a right hand until he became the baddest. Two biggest names in HW history, both were hated before accepted. That's America. That's what drives these guys and pushes them so hard. Because from our first champion Tom Molineaux to now with Deontay Wilder America has never had American HW fighter's backs. The British boxing fans crowned the first American world champion....not American boxing fans, they were too racist.

In summary, all things are exactly as Mr. Mendoza laid out back in the 1790s.

It can be built in a negative way.... His assault on a woman in Las Vegas can be brought up.

He should sign up for that 60 Days In show when they put volunteers in jail pods. See how long he lasts before he's some Bubbas beotch and crying to be let out. :b2:

For one, he could stop beating up Stiverne.

He should ignore Polish Football hooligans, and ignore substitute teachers.

Also keep him away from pastry chefs.

Listen, Britain punches well above its weight for a country of our size.

We have something like 8 current world champions in boxing, America has around 10 I think, but that is pretty pathetic when you consider America has a population of 350m compared to Britain which has 60m. In fact last year we had more world champions than America!

The current Formula 1 world champion is British. The best tennis player in the world is British (Andy Murray), before he got his injury he was world number 1. America hasn't produced a male grand slam winner in years.

We're dominating cycling now, your only decent cyclist was a cheat.

You've never won a soccer or rugby world cup like we have, and don't tell me you don't play these sports, the MLS has higher attendances than the NBA and NHL and you've been entering for years, but you're not even going to be at the next world cup because you couldn't even beat Trinidad & Tobago in the easiest qualifying confederation in world football.

We won more gold medals in the last Olympics than China! We finished 2nd, admittedly behind USA, but when you look at the per capita tables we are miles ahead of USA.

We have been dominating Snooker and Darts for decades, again USA has never even had a world champion in either of these sports. Canada, Australia even the Netherlands are way ahead of you.

American sport is going downhill quickly, your golden period is coming to an end.

 Clouded by patriotism? Really? I've been called a commie traitor more times than I can count by American posters. Dude I wrote an article about how fighters from every corner of the world should be embraced, and that nationalistic tendencies in fans annoy me. Here it is.
    https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...lattened-variety-is-the-spice-of-life.529338/

I backed Brook over Spence, Frampton over Santa Cruz, Calzaghe over every American he faced, Froch over Ward, Lewis over Tyson.

The answer is, I think he's decent but ridiculously overrated as hell by his excruciatingly annoying fans.

How about Windmiller taking on the best his own country has to offer. It seems pretty obvious to me but, beating Gerald Washington doesn't really cut it. He could well be fighting Breazeale next which is something at least. Then there's Miller and Jennings that could help. Mind you though, they may actually have a chance of winning so maybe not after all....

What you slagging off big Frank for? Guy's a cult hero and all round nice fella. Shame on you.

BTW in the last year I've been to Lithuania, Poland, Thailand and Dubai. I've seen Anthony Joshua adverts and posters in all of these countries. So you are wrong that he is only known in the UK.
