    The synthetic or cotton version?
I'll tell you a terrible way to gauge someone's height and weight ,put them middle aged in a ring in street clothes and shoes and have them stand near a boxer in a robe and boxing shoes!

George Foreman, the bald version, would have difficulty jabbing Rocky. He did not have that regular defensive step off jab that Louis was forced to use against Rocky. George had a ram rod jab that was better suited to tagging tall statuesque fighters that used a completely different stance to Marciano. Even then, Foremans jab was was not a regular, flicking blow that could be doubled up. It was always sporadic. using it in a downward motion would half its effectiveness. Rendering it almost redundant against Rocky.

Yes bald George has got that uppercut but that was a difficult blow to land on Rocky because of how low he swayed and because of the foot position he used. The position Foreman would have his hands lining Rocky up for it would totally expose him to overhand rights and crashing hooks he would not see coming.

Where is the work rate and tempo from Old George to try and control Rocky? Old man George huffing and puffing, shipping all those hammer blows to his head and blubbery waistline.. getting tagged each time he tries to push Rocky off. It would be a cruel person expecting such an old timer like George to cope under that intensity. The unpredictable sequence and regularity of blows would befuddle him if he could take the power. But I don't think he would. George really is too old to compete here.

Bald Foreman has that Archie Moore cross arm deffence that Rocky penetrated expertly against the real Archie Moore. Why would Rocky hit bald George any less than he hit his master?

The Herculean strength of Foreman would also be neutralised with the smothering tactics and lower centre of gravity of Rocky.

George gets tired first. And he gets busted up. Bravery would not save him.

Archie Moore dropped Marciano hard enough to make him black out.I guess George could replicate that. Moore never had a great chin Foreman did.

Foreman did not have the flashing righthand counter in his arsenal that Moore did. The speedy hands required for that sequence was beyond an aging bald old Foreman who was slower, les sophisticated and more predictable than a wizard like Moore. It took old man foreman 11 rounds to catch up to lighter punching former light heavyweight Micheal Moorer who swatted bald George around the ring like he could not miss. He could not take so many of Marcianos punches. That’s for sure.

I understand that you are tallest in the morning, and get shorter over the course of a day. It is theoretically possible that one fighter was measured in the morning, and the other was measured in the evening.
If somebody asks me how tall Joe Louis was, I will say "to the best of my knowledge six feet and one and a half inches". We don't know how Louis arrived at that figure however. I doubt that he measured himself.
As others have stated, a tape measure is not particularly reliable.
I was referring to events that happened in earlier eras.

I am going to assume that all of Louis's published weighs were accurate, apart from the first Conn fight, where it seems to have been deliberately misstated.

Yes because Archie was only 40 years old!lol Moorer was a lighter puncher than Moore?Over half Moore's ko's were over wrestlers and palookas!Foreman doesn't have to be fast for Marciano, all he has to do is wait for him to come in and batter him.

Nope, Louis made a point of coming in just under 200lbs so as not to be perceived as a bully picking on a smaller man.The promoters added some weight to Conn's poundage to make it appear more of an equal match up.

I don't think that Louis actually got under 200lbs.

Did Archie have quicker hands and better moves than a slower, bald 43 year old morbidly obese George Foreman?

no I meant Moorer was a lighter puncher than Marciano. If Moorer can swat and tattoo blubbery George with every punch in the book for round after round Rocky won't miss him.
That's right. All george has to do... it's the same as all everyone else had to do isn't it? All those faster hall of famers Charles, Walcott and Moore had to do...

All bald George has to do is wait with far less speed. and try anticipate what punch Rocky comes out of his crouch to hit him with. Morison Moorer and Holyfeild found the chubby chaser about as hard to miss as a lamppost. In fact lampposts moved quicker than 43 year old George.

Seeing as Micheal Bentt knocked Morrison to kingdom come inside one round how do you fancy chubby Foreman gets on with Bentt?

Big George would be able to move Marciano with glancing blows. Foreman had such heavyhands that he could hurt you through your gloves. Joe Frazier called them "wrecking balls". If he needed to he can shove Rocky back and start over. A clean jab for Foreman would stop Marciano in his tracks.

I just don’t think Rocky was easy to hit with the kind of jab George had. It’s not that kind of jab. The kind of regular flicking punch he needs. George could not keep Guido Trane off him. Nor was George fast enough anymore to time Marciano like he needed to. Rocky stood almost side on. Much harder to nail from above. Even the pushing George does requires him to take blows when he puts his hands on Rocky.

This version of George lost to guy who lasted 30 seconds against Micheal Bentt. He was not a great enough fighter anymore

He says in his book that he dried out to under 200lbs and felt like sh*t because of it.
" I was upset when I found out that Conn was going to come in at less than175lbs.
At that time I was generally coming in at 200/202lbs,and I always used to lay off a day before the fight with just a little roadwork to break sweat anda shower and rubdown-noboxing.Really wanted to break 200lbs because I ddint want the public saying-"Joe louis 202 and Conn 170" This would make me fell like a bully taking advantage of a smaller man".
" So the last day I trained like I always did,Chappie was mad as al lhell.I dieted and drank as little water as possible, anyway I'd broken 200 nd came in at199.5lbsConn was 174.But I made it to the weigh in without any breakfast.I felt like sh*t.I had no pep and as soon as I got to 555 Edgecombe Ave ,my chef Bill Bottoms had a good meal ready for me,Steak black eyed peas and salad.he knew I needed pumping up."

I thought you owned this book?

"Worried that he would be perceived as a bully picking on a smaller man,he altered his routine in an attempt to get below 200lbs.Against his trainer's advice he worked hard up until the final day before the fight and ate and drank sparingly the day of the bout. This helped him pare his weight down to199.5lbs.at the official weigh in,but it also left him weak and dehydrated.
When Con stepped on the scales, the needle stopped halfway between169 and 170lbs Mike Jacobs creatively announced that Conn weighed in at174lbs." Joe Louis by Richard Bak.
