I was very impressed with Tyson Fury taking Wlad to school. Moreso than AJ going life and death with Wlad. As far as Wilder, I am very disappointed Povetkin and Ortiz used illegals meds, otherwise Wilder would have the best HW resume at the moment.
One Knowledgeable Boxing fan Which you are dosen't beat the thousands who I distinctly remember saying Joshua will be exposed,Martin didnt do himself any favours with the build up and is very similar to a Price or a Harrison here, but come on,a lot of people across were saying'he's this slick southpaw, with dangerous power,it's too early for Joshua' yet he still took the risk, and gets accused of Ducking. Anyway back to Overhyping,we overhype any Good Fighter who would be deemed Average in the US becuase for the Population Ratio we are lucky to get a Good range of Boxers.US is Spoiled with some Legendery Fighters and so their will obviously be a Standard their. But what you need to look at is for a Island Just slightly bigger than Texas the Output of Boxers is very good and rare when the Infastructure and Funding of Boxing or Sports in the US and UK is vastly apart. So Naturally our fighters will be more overhyped, and some are embrassingly Hyped such as Hatton,Hamed. But some are Underrated such as Lennox Lewis,Calzaghe,Benn. So their will always be bitterness, but i always remind everyone on these forums America and Las Vegas will always be the Mecca of Boxing and that is the real dream for every fighter,so they need to something to become Known there, that is what Hearn is trying to do with Joshua. America is still the Dream Market to Conquer, partly because of the Prices such as PPV and Tickets which is unfair on you guys, that's why i think the Atmosphere and Appetite for Boxing is poor, because it is filled with Middle Class wankers, not Proper American Boxing Fans,we get that Luxury here which is one thing we should be grateful to Hearn for the tickets and PPV prices compared to you is not bad, hopefully he does all he can to reduce the strain on you guys.
Irrelevant. Canelo became the Lineal MW King on 11/2015, a little over 6 months later Oscar De La Hoya announced that the fight between Canelo-GGG would take place on 09/2017. I knew what to expect. A small but loud and obnoxious number of GGG stans swore up and down Canelo would never fight GGG or wait until 2018. Those same stans then swore up and down that GGG would KO Canelo. Now those same stans are saying Canelo will never take the rematch. Any more questions son?
With All due Respect he knows himself he could have Fought Better Opposition way before AJ got Klitschko. He cant keep using Ortiz and Povetkin as a excuse their were other good Fighters to challenge but he didnt. If he uses the 'experience and Age Excuse' why dosent AJ get to use that Card aswell.Eveything that is Happening is to Wilder's doing,he should be the AJ of this fight not the other way, where the younger guy is actually more experienced than the older guy and has a more Valuable Brand and Buisness
No, what impresses me about wilder is how he intimidates his opponents enough that they resort to taking illegal substances and that they make excuses about not being able to fight him. Also, he has extraordinary power, and has very fast hands for a HW.
No you didn't. You were telling everyone that the only reason that the fight was being delayed was because GGG had no drawing power(exactly like AJ dick riders are doing right now), you were saying that Oscar's sole intention for delaying the fight was to "marinate" the fight(exactly what AJ fanboys are saying right now), you were going on about how the business side was the most important part of boxing(exactly like some of the AJ fanboys are doing right now), you were yapping about GGG not deserving a good deal(which has been said about Wilder several times in this thread). Long story short, you were the dick rider who was busting his ass off to justify the excuses for delaying and avoiding a fight, now you're at the opposite end. Your hypocricy knows no bounds. You were also attacking anyone who spoke highly of GGG's skills, saying that he looked that good because of his level of his opposition. Now, you're impressed with Wilder's speed extraordinary power, despite the fact that he fought even more limited opposition than GGG did before the Canelo fight. You have no dignity.
Who exactly are bigger fights for Joshua than Wilder? I don’t see anyone outside of Fury being more meaningful or of greater magnitude than Wilder. So are you saying Tyson Fury, Parker or Povetkin are bigger fights for Joshua? If the Wilder/Joshua fight is in scope in 2018, where’s the issue? Did you want the fight to happen in December of this year or January of next year? Are you concerned about Wilder or Joshua getting old before the fight happens? If the delay was a year or 2 years out, I’d understand but we are talking about 6-9 months. Big fights typically take longer to promote. It’s the business side of Boxing
Right. 38 knockouts. Only looked good in one of them. Got it. 37 terribly unimpressive knockouts before the 38th 'looked good.' You guys are sad.
I do kind of agree with you on this, but I'm not sure if I'd still agree to it if I was whyte. I think he would be the one to say no as it would appear to me that my promoter had no faith in me and was offering me as a way of making more money that doesn't include me. I'm also not 100% sure whyte and hearn have a contract, I think whyte can walk away at any time
Jesus Christ. I've only been typing in every freaking thread this week that I want to see the fight next because they are the two best heavyweights, the two best punchers, the two best heavyweight champions in their primes and I want to see it next because THEY CAN FIGHT NEXT (nothing stopping them) and I want to see them fight as many times as they can ... There is ZERO reason to delay it. Zero reason to postpone it. No reason to fight others. Let the two best fight as many times as they like until we're freaking sick of seeing them fight. They'll become bigger stars if they fight each other and put on great slugfests. They won't become bigger fighting lesser guys. They are in their primes. FIGHT NOW AS MANY TIMES AS POSSIBLE. Why does everyone treat this like some one-off? Holyfield fought Bowe in 1992. Bowe in 1993. Bowe in 1995. Tyson in 1996. Tyson in 1997. Lewis in 1999. And Lewis AGAIN in 1999. But to do stuff like that, you actually have to sign and fight THE FIRST ONE. None of this "Let's wait. Let it build. Fight Whyte first. Gotta fight a mandatory first." They're both free now. Make it next. If it's a great fight, match them twice in 2018. If that one is good, match them again in 2019. Why the hell is everyone so totally happy with them wanting to delay it ANOTHER 12 months? Hell, wouldn't you rather see them fight each other TWICE in those 12 months than let it build? Can't think of another major fight in the sport where two guys are totally available to fight next, and instead of doing so, one side says, "Ahh, let's wait another 12 months." And all the fans go, "GREAT! Sounds totally fine." All you guys suck.
I’m sure Joshua could have faced better opponents....or Parker as well before winning their titles. Outside of Wald, there aren’t really a lot separating Wilder, Parker and Joshua in terms of their level of opponents. Joshua took a bigger risk than Wilder by accepting the Wald fight earlier in his pro career and that’s why he’s the man everyone is chasing and why he’s making more money than any of the other champions. Bigger risks reap bigger rewards. Part of the reason AJ is a bigger brand is based on beating Wald and the other half is being a British boxer where the heavyweight division gets a lot more attention than here in the states. The heavyweights in the US hasn’t gotten much attention at all since the early to mid 90s. No one really knows Deontay Wilder outside of hardcore boxing fans and he’s the first American heavyweight world champion we’ve had in years
Whyte is a sacrificial lamb. Of course Hearn won’t say that, but Whyte knows he’s not supposed to win....but it’s a shot at Deontay’s title. You think he cares what Hearns thinks? He’s looking out for #1 and is going to try to upset the apple cart and take Wilders title and set up an all British unification fight.
