No DC, it’s exactly the right question because, to Wilders shame, it’s as valid today as it was in 2015. In fact more so because Wilder still hasn’t stepped up and his level of opposition is as bad as ever or worse.

All the video shows is that it’s not Just forum experts that hold this opinion, it’s seasoned Heavyweight World Champions with no axe to grind as well.

I know he doesn't care what anyone thinks, but I'm not sure if he'd want to help make aj more money
I know that he won't care what hearn thinks, I'm just not sure he'd be happy helping aj earn more money by having the fights linked and him not getting a cut. There is no reason why the fight couldn't happen as a single fight

Lol. Cool your jets kid. I know it’s hard to fathom but not everyone on this message board follows all your posts. I didn’t even know you existed until a few hours ago. You shouldn’t let this fight get you so heated chief. It’s not that serious although most of us want it to happen.

Of course the fight can happen next, but there’s a business aspect that unfortunately is a reality. If there’s a way for a promoter turn a $50M fight into a $100M by investing more time and energy in building and promoting a fight on this scale, that’s what they are going to do. It’s a reality I’m surprised you are unfamiliar with. How long have you been watching this sport?

The two best fighters still are young and still have a LOT to prove. Fighting another world champion in Parker, adding anothe belt to his collection and building Wilder’s popularity across the pond is a way to increase the public demand for the Joshua/Wilder fight while making it a more meaningful fight in the process. Instead of 3 world champions there will only be one.

If they make Joshua/Wilder now and it ends by KO in a couple rounds, it will be hard to resell the rematch and for promoters that leaving millions of dollars on the table. If they let this big fight bake, they can maximize their profits and should it end in 1 round and can’t resell the rematch, it won’t be as big of a loss.

They will both still be in theirs primes 6-9 months from now. I agree, fight as many times as possible. I’m all for it, but there’s no need to leave titles and money on the table that the fighters can profit from by making the fight without the right timing and promotion.

In the early to mid 90’s, Bowe, Holyfield and Tyson were household names. Their names were the promotional engine based on their popularity. Wilder isn’t on that scale and neither is Joshua.

If they make it a great fight in 2018 there will be a rematch that will generate more money and more buzz but if no one is watching because the fight wasn’t promoted adequately, a LOT fans could potentially miss a great heavyweight rivalry not to mention the fighters themselves missing out on millions of dollars.

Yeah, very reasonable. You'd really have to be a hard baked partisan not to see the sense of it.

You're an interesting poster to read DC. Sometimes you can make very intelligent and coherent arguments, and sometimes you fall utterly flat. In this thread you've managed to do both at the same time. I liked the symmetry of Wilder fighting Whyte first, getting arguably his best win while raising his profile in GB and making the Joshua clash even bigger, but you and others had good arguments to just make the fight. But you have three main problems
    A. You treat it as irrefutable that Wilder is one of the two best hws. His resume is very comparable to Povetkin Parker and Ortiz. AJs (and Fury if you count him) is clearly a level above them. Wilder to my eyes is probably the best of that second teir bunch, and the most likely to pose a b threat to AJ, but resume alone he hasn't proven it. You keep comparing them to Bowe Holyfield Tyson and Lewis. But Wilder could still very well be closer to Michael Grant than to Riddick Bowe. If AJ crushes Wilder, which is the most likely event, then those multiple rematches you keep talking about will never happen. Instead, it would be just another defense that wouldn't look nearly as strong as it would if Wilder actually beat some better fighters first. I'd still rather see the AJ Wilder fight as when both fighters are more on even terms. It's not really Wilders fault, if hed beaten Ortiz, hed have been able to do that. But it is what it is, and as it stands his resume is vastly weaker.

    B. You refuse to acknowledge either the business side of it. Don't you want boxing to be as popular as possible? You can get more great fights and more great fighters the more popular it is. Right now the demand is enough to make it a very well performing fight. If it's handled right, a six month delay could double that.

    C. Way too angry and personal to people who are being respectful and considerate to you. Lighten up.

The overall point is as long as the fight gets made in the next year, there are very reasonable different opinions one can have. Nothing wrong with wanting it next. Nothing wrong with wanting it to be the fight after next.

Exactly how does 6-9 months turn a $50M fight into a $100M fight? No fight either guy can take next is going to boost their profile any bigger than it already is. A fight in spring/summer is going to generate the same revenue.

There was no pressure on Canelo to grab Billys belt so as to make the fight more financially successful. Nobody cared about that , they demanded the fight and they demanded it straight away.
Left to 'marinate' and with Canelo beating Saunders , that fight could have generate a lot more than $1.3M million views. People weren't interested in that and rightfully so.

Fact is that nobody would be playing the promoter game if Joshua was a ready to go as Wilder is. If he and Hearn showed the same enthusiasm then everybody would be bombarding Wilder with pressure to fight right now/next/whenever. They certainly wouldn't be playing promoter on Wilder's side. People will take the opposite stance of Wilder no matter what the situation.
Even if it means arguing with others why the fight should wait.

You're very confused, or you need to resort to fabricating things about others to make a cheap point. Doesn't surprise me one bit.

As far as the Canelo-GGG fight, It was obvious the fight was going to happen when it did. Oscar was very honest and upfront saying he wanted to let the fight marinate. He was also upfront about when the fight was going to take place. In May 2016, about 6 months after Canelo became the Lineal MW King an immediately after he beat Amir Khan, Oscar De La Hoya stated that the fight was going to happen 09/2017. All you GGG stans were fiercely calling Canelo a ducker, saying he was avoiding GGG, claiming he would never fight GGG, calling him Pollo, Chicken, and many immature ridiculous names.. All while KNOWING that, again, Oscar had already stated when the fight was to take place, and the reasons why it couldn't be made sooner and why he made it when he did. You guys just have "selective" reading. Me and those who use logic over emotion understood why the fight was made when it was, and we knew as far back as 05/2016 that it was taking place 09/2017. Its documented online.

Long story short, you couldn't be any more wrong. I'm not even sure WTF you're really talking about. I haven't said anything about AJ and Hearn marinating the fight or delaying it. What I have said is that if Hearn is serious about the fight he should make an offer.

Canelo and Oscar paved the way to do and pay whatever it takes to get the best scalps in the ring. They paid GGG atleast 5 times more than what he's ever gotten paid. Pretty badass of them, and it wasn't the first time either. They also gave Cotto and JCCjr their biggest payday. I love that!!

GGG looked hella impressive against the Wades, and the Stephens of boxing, but as soon as he stepped up he hasn't looked like the unstoppable KO machine we were sold. In fact an argument can be made he lost his last two fights.

It doesn't take a genius to realize that Wilder has very good speed for a HW, and has extraordinary power. I just wished his opponents wouldn't use illegal agents when they are scheduled to fight him. Hopefully AJ doesn't follow the steps of Povetklin and Ortiz.

I have more dignity than you who makes **** up to make a cheap point.

Everything I said was %100 true, and several others confirmed it by liking my post.

Not only did you say all those garbage about GGG/Canelo fight being made, you also lied about non-existent offers and pulled things out of your ass. You kept going on about Canelo not taking the fight because GGG refusing to fight at a catch weight, despite the direct statments from Canelo saying that weight wasn't the issue. You even went as far as to claim Canelo only vacated because GGG wouldn't agree to an 8 million dollar offer @ 155, an offer that didn't even exist and you pulled straight out of your ass, and you parroted the same lie over and over again despite being called out on your BS.

And you made all these claims knowing that Oscar didn't want the fight before when It actually happened? That could only mean one thing: That you're mentally challenged.

And don't play dumb. We both know what you meant when you said "fighters making excuses to avoid a fight". You were referring to Hearn wanting to marinate and build up the fight. You're calling it an excuse now, yet you were the biggest fan of all those garbage. You were very, very found of all that nonsense and the biggest advocate of promoters delaying the fight with the "marinating" BS, now all the same stunt is being pulled against a fighter that you like, all of a sudden It's become "excuse".

As for Wilder's power, yeah, he does have tremendous power. "Extraordinary" may, or may not be hyperbolic, yet when someone made a statement like that about GGG, about his power, or his jab, his chin etc., you were there to attack them, resort to namecalling and tell everyone that his opposition made it look that way. And even before the Jacobs fight, GGG's opposition was better than Wilder. You truly don't have an ounce of shame or dignity.

Luckily, there are consistent, real fans out there like me, who demanded the GGG/Canelo fight in 2016 and is demanding the AJ/Wilder fight for 2018. Without dick riding or hating on any one of them.

    :loel::loel::loel: I'm dealing with a child aren't I? Oh boy lol

You're so full of ****. Quote me on any of that BS you claim I said. Everyone with a functioning brain knows Canelo vacated because the WBC was dictating.

I think you're hate for Canelo and Wilder have you ****ed up. Come to me when you want to have an honest debate, because right now I don't know what the **** your point is other than you making **** up... Again, QUOTE ME on ALL those claims you made of things I supposedly said

You can't just make **** up and expect to continue a dialogue. So until you back up what you claim I said with quotes not "likes" (LOL) I won't be responding to a POS liar like yourself.
