Honestly, don't bother responding to him anymore. You've proven your point definitively. But he'll keep coming back with bull****. That's one of the reasons I get sick of posting for long stretches. No matter how reasonable and intelligent the position, people with indefensible positions will keep coming back with bs, and call you stupid while defending their irrational points and attacking your rational ones. For this point, I don't think there's anything left to say to this guy.
Don’t focus too much on the #’s. That was purely to make a point. I’m not sure how much the overall profits would be for the Joshua/Wilder fight? I can guess that If AJ is guaranteed $20M and Wilder is guaranteed $10M, that’s $30M in just the purses for each fighter. Let’s say the gate maxes out at $50M and the potential PPV revenues another $65M based on $65 per PPV buy (multiplied by a conservative 1M buy rate). That’s roughly $115M in revenue. Again, just conservative numbers. I’m not factoring in any kind of sponsors. A successful promotion means a successful PPV event and successful live gate. Without an adequate promotion, the promoters risk over extending themselves financially which could make them upside down on their investment where the network and promoters actually lose money. The fighters would lose a revenue stream by not getting paid any PPV dollars which could add another $5M to $10M to their check.....maybe more. Canelo is already making $50M for his PPV fights. Earlier in his career he wasn’t which is where AJ and Wilder are at the moment. Canelo was properly promoted by Golden Boy and now he’s regarded as the biggest name in Boxing. I’m not biased at all. I could watch the fight in December and be happier than a pig in sh*t. I’m just offering some insights to the business aspect and what the pros are for having patience. I’m a hardcore boxing fan so I’ll be watching in hopes this turns out to be a Holyfield/Bowe type rivalry. But....as another poster mentioned, Boxing could desperately use a high profile match up in the heavyweight division to bring attention to the sport as a whole. Boxing is a niche sport in 2017 vs being a mainstream sport when the heavyweight division was flourishing back in the 80’s through the early 90’s. Why not allow the Joshua/Wilder fight to have a chance at reaching a broader audience by giving the fight some extra time to amass interest with a stellar promotion? At the end of the day it means more money for the fighters which is the most important thing, but it also gives Boxing an opportunity to Infuse the heavyweight division and the sport as a whole with an expansive audience. I can wait 6-9 months if it means a positive impact on the sport and for the fighters profits.
Here's the proof of you being a mentally challenged, lying dick rider you are. There's direct statement from Canelo saying that "weight wasn't the issue". Here's another one: There's not an ounce of truth to this. You pulled it straight out of your ass to make it sound like the only reason the fight got delayed was because GGG wouldn't agree to the offer. Like I said, you're the very definition of a shameless dick rider. And as for "you're hatred for Canelo and Wilder", I've been saying for days that Hearn needs to cut the **** and make the fight, that Wilder shouldn't have to fight Whyte first, and been calling AJ fanboys on their bull**** about Wilder needing to earn the shot. The only one who's making **** up here is you.
All these ****en groupies wonder why we are pissed at their girl.. See it has nothing to do with who we want to win but those with a little brain matter know that for this fight to go ahead it will mean that the split will NOT be 50/50 because one guy is far more popular than the other.. This is why GGG took a smaller cut and Wilder needs to realise this too.. Wilder asking for a 50/50 split is the equivalent to ducking imo.
Long time no post Andrewa. What's your position on all this AJ/Wilder/Parker debates? Yeah, you're right. This level of hypocricy and stupidity is just hard to ignore.
I think we have a winner for the NEW biggest moron on the forum. I never thought Blizzy would lose but coming back with a bit of ring rust...
When he says “2018”, I take it they’re both going to fight probably one two other opponents, each, before finally facing each other in the late fall or winter Long time and A lot can happen between then and now so don’t count on it just yet And as has been said, Windmill Wyler has plenty time to worm his way out by demanding more than his name is worth, and then claim they are ducking him )
I get your position on wanting to have the fight immediately, and don't blame you. But personally, I'd like Wilder and AJ to go into the ring on near equal terms, a true super fight. A win over Ortiz would have done that. A win over Parker would too, and while I'd greatly prefer that matchup to Parker AJ, I know financially it's not going to happen. So, my ideal would be AJ Pulev and Wilder Parker fight in the winter, the winners then fight in a super match in the summer in a 50/50 super fight at Wembley. Realistically? I'd settle for Cardiff fight with AJ Parker, Wilder beating Whyte or Brazaele, then a lesser super fight this summer with AJ Wilder.
Main reason I want AJ/Wilder immediately is, if the fight doesn't happen in the next 6-8 months, the mandatories will start being ordered by the sanctions, and I think Hearn will prefer if AJ kept all the belts over unifying with others. I don't think risk will match the reward for either side on Wilder/Parker and both will prefer to go after AJ(Parker will probably lose his title to Povetkin if he doesn't cash out against AJ first). So with Wlad retired, Fury being the obese crackhead that he is, Ortiz being sidelined and Povetkin going after Parker first, I don't see Wilder having an opportunity to boost his career. If he isn't a legit, elite level titlist now, he won't become one by beating Whyte or Breazeale. That's why I think the time is now. But obviously, getting an undisputed champion by the end of the summer with your scenario would be amazing. But It doesn't seem It's likely to play out that way.
