Who gives a ****, good for him, I'm sure Duran has been wrong plenty of times. Like most of us on here.

By the way @khaosai galaxi you've really been knocking it out of the park with your avatars., You might be Top 3 alongside @Serge and I.:D

And Loma is a southpaw which partially neutralizes Rigo's left hand (as a smashing knockout weapon).

How do you know Duran is not emotionally invested? Him and Rigo are both Latino from Latino countries and they are being marginalized by fighters from Loma's part of the World. I would say he is very emotionally invested.

I think the bookies have a better idea on how things stand here. Of course Rigo has a shot, but he's up against it. He himself refused the fight at 126 a couple years back, because that was at too high a weight for him. Now he's older and Loma closer to his prime, and it's at an even higher weightclass.... sometimes things are exactly the way they seem

Duran is picking Rigo because Rigo is hispanic...................he is not using logic. Hopkins picks Lomachanko. I think Lomachenko will knock Rigo out. Lomachenko is the betting favorite for a reason!

To me at least, boxers have always seemed to be shockingly bad at predicting winners.

I'm not entirely sure why this is. I suspect one factor is just they have an investment and personal stake in who they pick. Perhaps they want to support their friends. Perhaps they want to support one side's management/team in hopes of getting future help.

I mean, if I were a boxer, I probably wouldn't want to go around belittling, say, Hearn's guy, when I was hopping to get with Hearn myself. And if I were buddies with one guy, I definitely wouldn't want to tell him before the fight that I think he'll lose.

Perhaps another factor is that, to be a boxer, maybe you have to be able to look at anyone and say "Yeah, I bet I could take that guy."

Anyway, I guess I support Rigo, but I don't see how he could overcome the weight advantage. Which is incredibly sad to me. Two of the most talented names in boxing going at it, and yet everything this could have been is undone by a massive weight advantage.

Who is she on your avatar? Looks like some oldie star. I like serge and his Italian girl too ha3x.
I've been in love with Carano for 10 years lol. I wish she would shed some pounds and get back into action.

Yeah I've noticed that too lately, I've had several people mention me, and get no notification, I just stumble upon it. As far as my avatar goes, she's an old actress from the 20's named Louise Brooks, she starrd in silent films, she sadly got phased out, because IIRC the studio heads didn't think she had a great voice for the talkies, but she did a hell of a good job emoting in silent films.

You do realise Duran had Canelo winning GGG right?
I like Rigo and he’s a dangerous man but really I just can’t see him beating Lomo which may seem strange given Lomo has a loss to Salido but I just see Lomo having the better work rate, can’t see a knockout either way.

Duran's picking the past prime master going up in weight. He' picking the "Daring to be Great" guy, like he was.

We've not even seen Rigo at his best yet, Loma will fetch it out of him. ;)
    Footwork - Rigo(I'm deadly serious)
    Power - Rigo(I'm serious)
    IQ - Rigo(more experienced)
    Defence - Rigo
    Offence - Loma
    Speed - Rigo
Rigo can use his right hook, left down the pipe combo in this fight, if Loma switches to SP. He's got a quicker, accurate counter-punch for whatever Loma will throw at him in orthodox.

Height won't play that much of a factor, unless Loma goes on the backfoot and wins it that way, can't blame him if he does turn it into a snoozefest, this is a master-counterpuncher he's in with here, with underrated power which has broken faces before, Loma is susceptible to cuts, so...

I pick Rigo as well, but there is always a possibility of robbery or lucky punch from Lomachenko. But this will be a close fight, but there isn't a fighter as skilled as Rigo, Lomachenko will come closer than anyone before but he is not going to beat him.

Two divisions bigger, younger, more active in recent years (even if the opposition has been fair to middling since he became a titlist, it's still been notably more substantial than the diet of competitive gruel Rigo's been on), smack dab in the middle of his optimum performance years.

I'd go as far as to say that Lomachenko looks bad if he doesn't win emphatically.

There's only one man who stands to gain any real kudos here, and that's Rigo. Lomachenko could've redressed that somewhat by meeting him at featherweight, but A-sides gonna A-side.
