Jacobs isn’t that good. It’s just a simple fact.

Honestly I think it depends mostly on Jacobs. If he is at his best he is the better boxer and will not lose a decision, Arias would still have a puncher's chance of course.

If we get a sluggish Jacobs or an unmotivated Jacobs, or if Jacobs is expecting an easy night and gets frustrated, then yeah the upset is definitely possible. Arias may have trouble getting a close decision though with Jacobs being in his hometown and Hearn/HBO behind him.

I think if Arias can take Jacobs punch, he's got a good shot at the upset.

Arias is a skilled fighter with about 100 amateur fights. More power than his record would indicate. A big part of that has to do with him fighting above his weightclass. He's a natural middleweight that had to fight at super middleweight for a bit. He's good on the inside and is a beautiful body puncher which may be a factor in this fight, but I think Jacobs will be too big for Arias to have the same success as he usually would doing this. He actually has similar height and reach as Jacobs, but he won't be nearly as thick. He is deceptively strong though. Solid fundamentals all around. He's actually more skilled than Jacobs on a purely technical level.

i never said i dont like jacobs. i dont really dislike any fighters. im a gym guy i have so much respect for every boxer. its a brutal sport ... i just said it was a bs move i also said however it was a smart move .. it was a smart and calculated and if jacobs did the next weigh in an did exceed 10lbs an fought for the belt he was would have been ko'd an he knew that. so it was a smart choice on his part he did wat he had to do... but i do think it was kinda a bs move.

What makes you say that? He beats the guys he's supposed to beat. Had one hiccup coming up. And many people thought he actually beat Golovkin, although it was clear that Jacobs didn't fight to his potential in the fight. Jacobs is a quality fighter. He'd beat the Jermain Taylor that got the gift decision over Hopkins, he'd beat Pavlik, and he'd beat Martinez in my opinion. He's no slouch. He's yet to fulfill his potential though. To say he isn't that good is just hating.

And for all the chin talk. He pretty much dispelled that in the Golovkin fight. He got hit with some shots in that one and pretty much took them well. Most guys not named Hagler, Monzon, Hopkins, Fullmer etc, would also have been dropped by the shot that Pirog stopped Jacobs with, and most people forget that Robert Byrd didn't give Jacobs a full count, he wasn't out cold.

This. He's a good fighter, but I don't ever see him being the top guy in his division. He landed some good shots against GGG, but other than that had no answer for GGG's jab and ran most of the fight. Pirog was schooling Jacobs before the knockout and when GGG dropped him Jacobs stayed on the back foot the rest of the fight.

Lol even worse is a recent interview when asked about that move he said there was no motive and tried to fool the interviewer by saying he was between 170 and 175 on the night lol, biggest crock of BS I’ve heard in a while lol.

Hold that thought after Arias. I really believe DJ is getting drunk off koolaid over his performance against G who I believe is far overrated and is one of the most basic fighters out there to the point DJ had success turning SP on him. I’m not sold on DJ hater or not.

Do you rate Arias? What's your prediction for tonight?
