Lol. I wonder who I should believe. The trainer who works with Haye everyday or the highly reputable Sun. It's a quandry indeed.

say what you want about haye but he has heart and balls.

When he went down after tearing his leg he had a choice to give up or carry on many fighters have quit from much less serious **** he took big shots despite being in pain with his leg and never gave up give credit were credit is due.

Most fighters adjust as they get older Haye is still fighting like he's 20 this is taking a toll on his body. He always seemed over trained his body is worn out.He risks getting badly hurt if carrys on.

At SMW it was arguably the top belt when you look at champs and competition at that time and that all the belts in that division were of a similar age and none any more established than any other. It wasnt like MW where a title may have a long history and another title appeared, they were all of a similar age.
first WBO SMW champ was Hearns and first WBC SMW champ was Leonard.
Hearns drew with Leonard in a fight many felt he won at SMW then it followed with Eubank who to this day has one of the best SMW resumes ever... Then Collins... Calzaghe

I have edited since. Please read again.

A weight dont make a belt??? You have different belts for weight divisions.

I think a fighter is often what makes the belt in so much of what they do. Sure a fighter can win a so called respected title but its who they face. Many comment on Wilders comp even though Wilder is WBC champ

Im not sure what you are on about? Im not arguing whether he was good or great. Im putting forward a fact about the WBO SMW title, In that it was as new as the WBC title so of no more or less prestige to start with but that at that time, the WBO had more champs that had established more supremacy.
Who did Calzaghe refuse to face at SMW when he was champ. He has the best SMW resume ever, which dismisses your opinion.
Who... Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Veit, Brewer, Bika, Lacy, Mitchell, Kessler who all were had been or became SMW champs and all world rated
Where... Calzaghe was the away fighter for 4 of those
Timing... He was due to face WBO champ Collins but Collins decided to retire so fought Eubank who was 31, Reid when world rated, Woodhall when world rated, Veit before he won WBO int title and when Veit was WBO int, Bika before he was world champ, Lacy as IBF champ, Kessler when he was WBC/WBA champ

I agree with this reply. I've never liked Haye but he did continue to fight Bellend (oops sorry Bellew) with a real, not imaginary, injury. It canceled out his cop out with Wlad...the Toe injury which was seriously one of the most pathetic excuses for a loss from a boxer EVER.

@EddieHearn any truth in the rumours that #hayebellew2 is off due to an injury to David Haye?

you are talking about the division being new now, not the actual body. the WBO was a new body, often unacknowledged completely by fighters. Whether it was a WBO SMW belt or a WBO MW belt makes no difference, the WBO MW blt was also weakly regarded too.

I am not sure why you havent got over this yet, you were explained it many times a good few years ago now and had it repeated over the years.

To make your argumenteven weaker, the SMW division was itself new in the 90s, leading to further dilution of its worth.
