http://www.skysports.com/boxing/new...hs-off-opening-offer-for-anthony-joshua-fight Laughing at this quote "I'll give you a simple answer. They pay us 40 per cent and not a cent less, or they will fight Wilder, who will obviously win and then we'll fight Wilder 50-50," said Higgins. "If they want to go fight Wilder, they can, and then we'll fight Wilder on a 50-50 basis later in the year, once he has all three belts. Delusional!!!! Seem to be forgetting 50% of revenue vs Wilder is still not as much as what 25% - 30% would be fighting AJ.
Higgins been at the peruvian marching powder again, bless him. Joshua "negotiations" aside, if Wilder were to beat Joshua, in what world is Wilder/Parker 50-50 money wise
lol team parker want to sell their belt if they believe in themselves so much why wont they take the fight and become the star in boxing overnight? or do they just want to cash out? Parker clearly doesnt deserve 40 percent and he knows it
Whatever the offer was, whether it was genuine or not, Parker isn't getting 40%. Reality is unless Parker and WIlder come up with more realistic numbers they won't get the fight. Joshua doesn't need them as much as they need him.
Here's another idea...............outbid Hearn for the fights. Have the management teams of both Parker & Wilder pay the fighters more than they get with a Hearn promotion. Simple. Stick a crowbar in their wallets and belly up to the bar and sign contracts and take the risk. But boxing is and always was, full of big talkers. Their actions determine what the really want--not words spewed into a microphone
I've got this crazy idea. Maybe what AJ/Parker should do, is have the fight on PPV in UK & NZ and whatever. And let the customer decide after the fight what percentage each fighter should get. So for example, if you want AJ to get 80% of the PPV slice, you press the red button, and move the slider up to 80/20 for AJ. I mean neither of them portray themselves as 'bad guys', and neither have a lot of haters, obviously AJ does have some on here who are jealous of his mad skillz and dreamy looks, but I think overall we could trust the public to be quite fair. Be a good incentive as well for the fighters to put on an entertaining show.
Both Wilder's and Parker's teams think they have a very strong hand as AJ and his fans expects to fight one of them next. Hence, both are asking for ridiculous money, Wilder wants 50% and Parker 40%, neither of which is realistic. However, both ought to be more reasonable as Joshua could in theory fight Miller, Whyte rematch, or Pulev and do decent numbers.
David Higgins and Duco just come across as totally out of their depth... Joseph Parker should be embarrassed and for his own credibility he should be distancing himself from them as soon as possible. That little show at the Parker/Fury press conference was a joke and then for the next few days was so far up peter fury's arse you didnt know where Higgins stopped and Peter fury began... and to earn extra brownie points he started publically calling our eddie hearn for what missing a meeting? Idiot. The little press conference they put on the other day to announce what turned out to be nothing and just had parker standing there while he rambled on about nothing just shows how duco are really freestyling the whole thing. I like Parker but it's clear to me they want to make the most amount of money out of him as possible until they get kicked to the kerb.
Yeah, I see someone make a similar point on here earlier. At some point the conflict of 'staying humble' and not fighting other world champions because you won't make enough money will reach the mind of the casual.
Hearn starts at an offer of 20%, Higgins laughs at that and demands 40. Stage 1 negotiation. Just on numbers alone team Parker cant justify more than 20%, they have the backing of a small NewZealand population but his last one was on Youtube and it did not do good numbers, this is the Anthony Joshua show. But Parker is an unbeaten world champion so he is worth something to Joshua so Hearn already accepts he is going to have to overpay these guys to get the deal done. I think 30% is fair but they will settle on 35. If team Parker really do walk away from anything under 40 then i place the blame for this fight not happening on them. That figure does not come out of the 20,s then thats what i would call a cold deal and loosely i would call it a lowball offer. They making so much money there is no need to let fights like this fail on greediness.
Or a lot more than half a mill by fighting Lucas Browne, his highest career high pay day is still more than Wilders witch is crazy when you think about it.
