Cant hear the screams of bullsh*t you so graphically describe ,just booing.
I guess they edited it out eh? lol

Foreman moved the 211lbs Cooper right across the ring with one right hand to the body.

You can clearly hear the crowds chorus of "Bullsiht! Bullsihit! Bullsiht!" At the 7.00 mark on your version. It is completely audible. Have a listen. On another longer YouTube video of the same fight Bald George, ever the old ham, started calling for the crowd to chant "I want Tyson-I want Tyson" and cleverly won them over.

Yes Bert reckons he was already injured. He moved away in pain. It's a good result until you look into it.

Frank Bruno also sacked Bert as a sparring partner. Cooper was hot and cold as a fighter. He was hot for Holyfeild and Mercer. Cold for Carl Williams. Perhaps Bruno and George only met Bert when he was cold?

George Foreman himself was well past his best for his entire comeback. Way past it.

Dwight Qawi was past his best against George. So was JB Wiliamsin, Ken Lacusta and Gerry Cooney.

Or perhaps he was fine against Foreman and simply outclassed and overwhelmed? Did you see the fight? Foreman's sharper than i remembered and Cooper took some big shots. Foreman snuffed out his offense too, slipping at times and smothering at others with that cross armed defense.

There was only one place this fight was heading.

Do you see us trying to build a case this was the George Foreman of old? Do you see us trying to build up his opponents with smoke and mirrors?

The fact is George still, even well past it as you say, won the lineal title!!!! How amazing is that.

If you are trying to sell Foreman was past it like Joe and therefore he couldn't have possibly beat Marciano either it's just not gonna fly. Completely different fighters and Foreman for me showed he was actually more effective at this stage than Joe.

Foreman is a nightmare for smaller fighters. Even in old age he was still effective against them.

Ol Cooper reckons a brace of twins and a bag of coke softened him up the night before he fought Foreman. Just putting that out there.

Can't here it? I was one of the ones shouting it years ago! I remember as young man dying to see George Forman as he was from my fathers era and the golden era of the 70's. I must admit it was fantastic to see him in the flesh but the crowd felt robbed by Burts non effort.

Well, you take a shot like that from George Foreman on the short rib. It's perfectly understandable to decide you've lost interest in camping when you're getting mauled by a bear.

He also said his young daughter kept him up the night before, he needs to get his story straight.

or perhaps, because he was fined by the commission, Bert put in a non effort?

I was initially impressed by the fight until I saw how good Bert was against Holyfeild and Mercer.

quite frankly yes I do get the impression that a lot of people cannot distinguish between the first carnation of George and the second bald one, who really was not better than Joe Louis on his comeback.

George was never effective against great fighters on his comeback. He did not beat a relevant career heavyweight. George gave one great fighter an interesting fight that he lost. That's it. George happened to be the weakest talent that Moorer lost to. Even Morrison was found out to be below elite level in his very next fight after beating George. But there is nothing wrong with that. George was a guy who had already had been great. He was on a comeback.

George was a nightmare for smaller fighters who were not great fighters that did not hit like Marciano. What is your evidence that at 43 years old he beats Rocky after losing to Morrison? You cannot seriously believe Rocky loses to Michael Bentt?

This was amazing. I agree. And I was happy for George. But Moorer had the title because Evander had a funny turn during their fight. Very exceptional circumstances. Had Moorer rematched Evander he never would have retained the belts. Nor would George had been given a shot because he could not beat Morrison. Why didn't he rematch Moorer or Morrison or Schulz?

I don't how an injured crack head, fined by the commission for non effort (Of all things) and recommended for drug rehab by the commission, in any way shape or form possibly represents World Champion Rocky Marciano?

And I don't know where I ever suggested he did! Maybe you're the one on the crack pipe?

I didn't mean that competitively or like I wanted to put myself over on anyone. I just meant my threads behoove me to not spread bull**** in others threads.

 you're telling me an article writer for a newspaper is a higher authority than a historian? Academically?

Not all, I'm not sure Roland would have mentioned it nor am I sure the writer would have included nor am I sure the editor would allow it to go to publish. Why? Because I am not a professional historian, and I don't make assumptions.

It is their job to go through stuff like paper reports and articles to verify and bring forth the most probable and evidence supported narrative. Not mine, not yours, not the man who interviewed Roland, just historians.

To what end is this not trumped? I mean damn, how the hell am I supposed to prove **** all when you think a source that doesn't mention a detail at all disproves the existence of that detail? How can I prove dick when your criteria for academia is made up?

Libby being a general historian is not a weakness. There is no such thing as getting a degree in boxing history, and boxing history books are not exactly big movers in the history world. Anyone who wrote a boxing history book did it for the sport not money, there is no money in it. I've never heard of any academic issues with Libby's book, nor have I ever heard of anyone downplaying the man's credentials.

If I favored article writers over historians I'd think James Figg was a boxer and Conor McGregor knows what a powerline is. Historians will show you Figg never boxed a match and trainers will explain Conor's got no kinematic chains in his punches. Article writers are firmly beneath that with the explicit intention of putting entertainment before information.

I doubt I did anything other that waste my time, but I did scan the pages in question and uploaded the image. I don't know how to post images here, but here's the link:

    https://s8.postimg.org/tmvi24y6r/rockybrokeroland.png

on the bottom of the left page and again in the center of the right Libby mentions broken arms.

You can pack it in and we agree to disagree if all you're going to bring to light is newspaper articles that don't make mention of what's being contested because we'll never find common ground that way. You've done nothing to discredit Libby at all.

The daughter story is probably what he told his wife. I believe the hookers and coke story more.

He said Archie Moore set him up, but let's be honest, Cooper probably would have done it himself if he got the chance.
