If he beats AJ? Seriously, why was he bum squad for so long if he's good enough to beat AJ? Don't think he'll do it, mind you, will just be pissed if he deprived us of better fights he could have successfully made if he beats AJ. Maybe it's his horrible Al Haymon team?

Who has he not faced that's suppose to be big time in the heavyweight division.

HW is not 147 with a Mayweather, Pacquiao, Cotto, Mosley, Marquez or anything like that. HW is void of top solid competition. Some guys on BN24 fault Wilder for the incompetence of his opponents not passing drug test. He faces who he faces and he knocks them out. The same excuse was given for GGG when he was beating up Wade and things like that and people were adamant about it but are inconsistent for other fighters.

Im never really pissed at Wilder, his over the top and overly loud and really cliched persona is a bit annoying but it is also entertaining, as is his fighting style. I look forward to Wilder fights. His promoter and manager on the other hand are just crusty nob heads. They have held him back, picked his crappy fights for him and made sure he has faced as few real challlenges as possible so they can just play it safe and keep those dollars rolling in for themselves . As Hearn says, under different managment who knows how big Wilder could of been by now.

In short, not including Sasha or Ortiz, or others I don't think he should be blamed for not facing (which others would blame him) he's failed to face Wlad, Pulev, Parker, Whyte, Glasjov, Jennings, Chagaev, others. Since getting the title, he's failed to face a single concencus top ten hw. I rate some of his defenses(Duhaupas and Washington) higher than most, but they were NOT concencus top ten hw, and there were plenty available.

He could've fought Wlad, Vitali and Haye when they were top 3 in the division.

    He sparred 2 of them.....

Wilder refused to fight Vlad. Hell, in camp Vlad knocked Wilder down with a left jab, then flattened him with a left hook, beat Wilder from one side of the ring to the other.....................Wilder has never fought a legit fighter, not one time! How can anyone take Wilder seriously?! When will Wilder fight a legit fighter? Never, Wilder will always get away without fighting anyone who can fight back. His next big fight will be against Breazeale, another Haymon fighter, a knockout victim of Joshua's!

    Why be mad at that?!
Part of finally stepping into the ring with a big name is the option to be able to beat him, that's what the sport essentially is about.

We wouldn't be mad for him finally stepping up after a 9 year career, and why be mad over him doing his job while he's at it?!

This thread doesn't make any sense at all.

it is a good matchup. Two guys who are up and coming and hungry. When the Klitchko's start talking the division seems boring again. I think Wilder and Joshua can really help boxing and get it big again. I still think it is too early now. Let them win a few more fights and hopefully not lose and then build it up huge. This is only good for boxing no matter who loses. Sort of like Hearns vs. Leonard in 1981.

I think the point of the thread is that if Wilder was always good enough to beat AJ then why couldn't he have stepped up much earlier?

The GGG and Wilder analogy would be consistent if Wilder became AJ's mandatory challenger and then AJ dropped his belts and went to Cruiserweight instead. Sounds a little far fetched, doesn't it?

If he beats AJ my world will cave in. What will I do with all the Dustin Nichols threads that I have prepared and ready to roll? I might even have to give Wilder credit! The pain! It burns!!!

    *wakes up*

    Phew!

Do you think the top 10 we're scared of Wilder? I really don't.

Golovkin's hype was more than his talent deserved and actually held him back. If anything the fairly lack of respect for Deontay's skill set had the opposite effect in trying to entice top level fighters to fight him.
