This fight with Duquan Johnson is one of many that Pryor was in where he went down, got up and showed his true skills. Pryor was a devastating puncher. Imo he's an underrated puncher when compared to punchers in history. He was truly a two fisted warrior who at times was hit squarely on the chin with shots that would ko anyone and he gets right back up and goes at you even harder. For a small guy Pryor had legendary boxing skills. He could feint you, parry with you, box you, take your best shot, dance, and slug with you. Just peep this fight with a guy who was a pretty good puncher. Just peep the little things done by Pryor in this fight and then watch how in the 7th he tried to find a weakness in Johnson using the left hook to the body then the straight right. Classic. These were the days when you could talk about a guy being hurt and still in that same conversation say "yeah but", lol. Today if say a guy got hurt, we go to the "imagine" if so and so lands fight over. Johnson landed over and over and still Pryor stopped his man.
A lot of famous boxers used to use Mama B to help train their fists. Well the ones with big hands at least, she didnt care much for the small handed fellas.
He was, i loved watching him, his fights agaisnt Alexus were unreal!!!! Helped get me interested in the little guys!
Good shout out. One of my favs. He had it all. Power (both hands), Chin, Determination, Movement, Heart and subtle defense, slipping and bobbing, counter punching. I would have loved to see him and Leonard fight but it never went through. The first fight with Alexus was sketchy but he left no doubt the second go round.
When Panama Jack hands you the special cocaine laced mix from the black bottle, you can probably recoup from anything.
Poor guy got murdered not to long after that fight on an arm robbery and the guys that killed in assuming they are all out
