All the AJ fans saying that wilder needs to beat whyte first, I don’t see the point.

I like whyte, he works hard, has a good chin but he lacks big time in the skills department.

The helenius fight was really supposed to be a showcase for him and to see how well he did against a bigger man which wasn’t very good at all! Ok helenius didn’t exactly give whyte much to work with but having said that helenius at one point at the end of the 2nd had whyte looking poor and in trouble.

I like the fact that they are trying to build the AJ wilder fight a bit more but I think for whyte, wilder is all wrong for him and whyte vs Miller is much better.

    If not sooner.

Its not to see if hes worthy of fighting AJ, he clearly is.

But both need a fight on the same card/day and then fight in the summer. Would be good if AJ fought a US and Wilder fought a brit

Yes i think Wilder would most probably knock Dillian Whyte out without too many scares. I do like Whyte but he isnt much better than Derek Chisora, thats the level i see him at and maybe the way their fight panned out it seems about right. Whyte will give Wilder some moments along the way, all Boxers seem to have their moments but i couldnt see past a Wilder KO victory somewhere between the 5th and the 8th. Hearn says he fancies Whytes chances but what is the mans promoter meant to say.

But it was a double edged fight. Hearn gets the fight on, gives his contender a shot at a world title but at the same time its an aid to promote Deontay Wilder to the UK public in anticipation for a bit potential summer show down with Joshua. Clearly Wilders promoters have done an awful job of promoting their fighter or he would actually be worth something on a contract table so Eddie is trying to do their job for them like any good money hungry promoter should be doing.

So yes Wilder stops Whyte without too much of a struggle but the point of the fight is promotion of Deontay Wilder cuz to date he isnt worth half of what he is demanding to face Joshua. Forget some double barrel contract, Whyte and Joshua dont come together in any package but build your name in the UK and then maybe you have a stronger stance in asking for the bigger split. Not to mention that Whyte has fallen into place as the number 1 contender for the WBC belt. Whyte should be Wilders next mandatory, so he isnt half as irrelevent as team Wilder are making out. Face him for 4 million now or potentially in less than a year for 1 million. If I were Wilder and i was not scared id prob take the fight a little sooner for 4 times as much money.

But dont get me wrong, i personally dont think any worse of Wilder for not taking the Whyte fight, i very much doubt him or even his chicken **** promoters are not scared of Dillian Whyte. If they feel this fight is not right for them, is pointless, is a joke then thats fine, dont take it. If im honest Breazeale is a better fight than the Whyte fight. But i wouldnt say because he knocks Whyte out the fight is completely pointless.

It's a possibility. On the other hand he couldn't blow out Molina, Szpilka, Arreola or Duhaupas in 5 and Whyte beats all of them.

I don't think Wilder has to beat Whyte to fight AJ. I think facing the no1 in the WBC rankings who happens to be from (and is well known in) the UK would be a good profile booster and would strengthen his hand in negotiations.

I think Wilder sees it as too risky and is ducking that fight. Whyte has already fought for 2 WBC belts which normally would have made him mando, yet WBC will likely force another eliminator to protect Wilder.

Career high pay day, multiplied by about 4/5.

    Ranked #1 with the WBC.

Boosts his share with the AJ pot.

Why doesn’t he take it? Can anyone tell me because I’m all out of ideas here.

He dont want to be told what to do, he dont want to be told where to fight, he is the champion and the baddest man on the planet and like most American fighters he really really doesnt want to fight outside of the USA. The positives of facing Whyte in the UK dwarf these reasons and most Boxers would take serious consideration in taking up the offer cuz its a really good offer where he is getting seriously overpaid to face an easy opponant but Wilder dont want it he is the main man and he is the one who will be making the demands. Obviously he isnt the main man but in his head he is and cuz his feet are not on the ground he cant accept the positives.

Not sure it'd be as early as 5, but I'd back Wilder to stop Whyte certainly. Wouldn't totally rule Whyte out I guess but he just isn't all that

its been talked about and twisted to the point some people think hes right not facing Whyte... There is NO reason not to fight him unless they think its a potential banana skin and it ****s up the money fight with AJ. Its so blatant its laughable. Fans just lying about it who agree with Wilder

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Despite his early demolition of a guy that shouldn't be anyway near title contention at the time, Wilder is still at a 8 round average in titlefights facing less than stellar opposition.
He might knock him over early, but there's as much of a chance it takes him over 8 like usual or even the distance.
Whyte, despite his shortcomings, would very probably be Wilder's best opponent to date.

Good point, why turn down 4m and UK exposure? Why Joshua has to be next? Why can't let things work out by it self.

who is whyte fighting on the 3rd of feb? could it be kabayal for the euro? there are a few easy fighters in the rankings for kabayal to defend it in Germany so probably not.

    how about Charles martin?

Of course he'd beat Whyte. No one's disputing that.

Which makes it all the more baffling why he doesn't take the offer.

He doesn't need to beat Whyte first, Hearn himself said that. People just assumed when the Whyte fight was offered it was a requirement but it's been clarified that isn't the case, it was a seperate offer which had no relation to any possible match up with Joshua. It was actually Wilder's team that linked it to Joshua, they asked Hearn to guarantee the Joshua fight if they fought Whyte. Hearn said they were separate deals, while Wilder's team wanted to secure Joshua next.

But as for Wilder/Joshua, yeah Wilder KO's Whyte. Whyte has poor movement, his defence is pretty much to just hide behind his guard now and again, he has no head or upper body movement, hence why Chisora could just plow right at him, no need to cut off the ring, no need to feint or work down stairs to get to the head, Whyte is far too hittable for a puncher like Wilder.

I don't think it's an easy nights work for Wilder though. He struggled with Molina, Duhaupas, Szpilka, Washington, and Whyte isn't any worse than them, better than most of them in fact.

"If they want to see that fight, I have no problems fighting that fight, as long as that contract says I have Anthony Joshua next.

"Put Anthony Joshua on that contract and I will come to England. Dillian Whyte is an easy fight, I can fight that fight in my sleep, one hand behind my back
