Actually, the weight disparity in the lower weight classes is much smaller. It really makes a difference starting at lightweight.

Take a look at Pac. He rehydrates to 146-149. Guys he fought routinely rehydrate to 160+.

I have never been a Rigo or Loma fan. I just know that Rigo is too small for Loma scumbag, lmao.

For all the idiots claiming Lomachenko has "dragged" Rigo up 2 weight divisions......then Rigo should of accepted the fight when it was offered at 126.

Lomachenko was ducked at featherweight so he moved up.....Rigo was ducked at 118 yet chose to stay there to fight true tomato cans.

Those who don't like tge fight have only got Rigo to blame.

There is a 138lb rehydration clause so the fight night weights will be similar. Go shove your pre fight excuses up your rancid asses this is a fair fight and Rigo will not have the ref and judges against him.

They will begin promoting soon. It’s a big fight for us Boxing fans, but the general public doesn’t care or know Rig or Loma. The networks & promoters won’t invest more money than they have to considering they are going to market to a niche core audience. If they put on a memorable fight it could mean one of these guys becomes a recognized name? But there won’t be much hype getting this fight out to the masses, unfortunately. With Rigs style this most likely won’t be a fight that produces the kind of fireworks the general public will appreciate. It will most likely be a tactical chess match only real Boxing fans will value

It’s a tough task for Rig. Two weight classes for anyone is a monumental leap in this sport. Only a few boxers have been able to leap frog an entire division to have success overcoming the challenges this kind of move presents. Rig deserves respect because outside of the weight disadvantage he has to overcome, he’s also facing an elite p4p boxer in Loma.

It’s not impossible, but it’s a tall order. Loma may be the betting favorite, but Rig isn’t just some smaller guy jumping up 2 divisions....Rig is a live dog in this fight and Loma knows it. Rig should have accepted the fight when it was first presented but that’s water under the bridge and the ship has sailed. The challenge is greater now for Rig but if he wins, it will come with bigger recognition.

Those two weight divisions (junior featherweight and super featherweight) didn't exist during most of boxing history.

They are both featherweights. I remember Rigo wouldn't fight Loma at 126 several years ago.

Billy Conn started as a lightweight and fought Joe Louis at heavyweight. Sam Langford started at lightweight and fought the 30-pounds-heavier Jack Johnson at heavyweight. Harry Greb was a middleweight who fought numerous heavyweights.

We have weight divisions now. And when they enter the ring you'll see the difference in size and it will be very apparent regardless of Rigos skill.

So you give Manny Pacquiao mad credit? 140 and up, every dude except TB and JMM were taller, bigger, and outweighed him significantly.
