Didn't GGG avoid fighting Ward when the fight was spoken about when both were champions multiple times, with him not willing to move up and test himself above his safe haven of 160 pounds ?
Why would Triple G avoid Ward? He was the champion at 160, he had UNFINISHED business at 160, going up to fight a man who was already established at 168, and had a significant size advantage, who doesnt want a fair and equal competition, wants his own officials etc, and to make it worse isnt really popular himself is a bad move. Triple G didnt avoid anybody, I doubt Ward wanted that fight at a catchweight either or at 168.
Exactly why would he if he's so good and if he is 1 of the most avoided like you said? There was no reason he couldnt have moved back down to 160 after fighting him but he has refused on multiple occasions, the fight could have been made including in 2015 when GGG refused a 50/50 split on purses . Ward has already shown a history of being able to negotiate fighting the best at multiple weights compared to GGG who it seems has no problems beating up fighters moving up, including from 2 divisions below but refuses to test himself fighting ANYTHING above 160.I thought GGG was unlucky in his last fight and I'm glad he's proved in his last few fights that he is the Middleweight king but its a shame we probably wont get to see 2 of the top P4P of the last few years fight.
Talk is cheap, there was NO evidence or anything concrete to prove that Ward wanted to fight Golovkin, or vice versa. Knowing Ward he probably wanted things in his favor, Golovkin was probably well aware of that and wasnt too approving of the scenario.
Sure it was just a lot of talk as it is when you get 2 of the best fighters relatively close in weight. I am not sure how advanced the negotiations got but I do remember Ward saying he had an email of a more then fair 50/50 offer which was knocked back. I don't blame fighters trying to get the best deal they can but wether the Ward haters want to acknowledge it or not he was the A side and had every right to make a few demands especially in regards to the Kovalev fights you were talking about before.
