Exactly! He could have gone amateur for a few years, turned pro at 23/24 but instead jumps straight into the pro game, if that's his choice then he should live by it... Saying that I do enjoy watching him fight and as a British boxer I hope he does well... As for will he regret it? I think any fighter should, we saw the difference in class, technique and ring craft with OD and Taylor...

I think they atleast have a plan for the kid and so far it seems to be working!

Just because fans are eager to see him fight blokes that would probably beat him now it doesn't mean he should!

Eggington would beat Conor now, why take the risk when Conor has so much time to develop!

It isn't even a risk tbh it's suicide!!!!

Conor is not close to being ready for British level, he is a work in progress that's a fact. 21 years of age he doesn't need to worry about world level for a long time.

A lot of the time blokes with amateur experience turn pro @ 22-23 or older.
Benn was 19 he will be far ahead of them by the time he is there age even if they are Olympic gold medalists!

Benn will be a British champion @ 23yo definitely

Just because Lomachenko fought for a world title in his 2nd fight, it doesn't mean Conor has to.

Conor is young in age and experience

Canelo looks pretty sharp, should he regret a lack of amateur career?
Would it have made a difference?

Terence Crawford wasn't a huge amateur star?

When you start young as a pro you just need to move slower to get that experience.

I'm not necessarily saying every fighter should or shouldn't, what I initially meant was if you haven't had an amateur career and decide to go pro early don't mention it every 5 minutes like he's at a massive disadvantage

This for me is why I love boxing, everyone has a different opinion you could debate all day but I don't think there are any rights or wrongs...

I don't rate him at all his fought nothing but trash and it's shocking his getting all the TV fights when fighters that are much better have to work there way there and his there now fighting trash since he struggled like hell against that journeyman on a burns undercard his fought absolute trash any fighter can look world class against trash as soon as be fights a average fighter that can take a punch and has abit of power his getting beat up his not hard to hit and has no power and he hasn't got a very good trainer because any half decent trainer would be telling him his in the wrong weight class

Wait until he gets smacked in the mouth by a genuine welterweight who can dig a little bit.

    GAME OVER.

I like Conor benn, ideally I want all of these prospects to become world class?

But it’s VERY early for this push, he’s not really fought anyone of note yet. Hope he keeps it up, but just don’t televise these early fights it’s clearly putting people off.

The only reason they do it so regularly is to take the pressure off moving him too fast.

When people see the olympians moving at a rapid pace and Conor has had more fights they might think he is milking them and too scared to have real fights.

The only reason being amateur is an advantage is because it's experience. Give Conor the same experience and there is no advantage.

Taking time to develop isn't being cowardly it's being smart. They don't need to feed him to the wolves but they do need to gradually up the levels.

He's been fighting novice journeymen and he's well above that level, he needs to move on to experienced journeyman

Easy to look good against bums, but it's only a matter of time before the boy gets found out.
