Not sure about that,as good as Povetkin is I'm not entirely sold on him against the best of the big boys, just looks a one trick pony to me with how he rushes in and if you look back at his Wlad fight, dirty tactics aside Povetkins head was getting smashed backwards off Wlads jab every round with Povetkin not getting through at all. I know styles make fights but AJ just beat a Wlad that was looking not far off as good he did v Povetkin albeit with years added on and maybe that killer instinct gone but essentially AJ coped with the biggest puncher in the HW division and did it by trading blow for blow, just can't see Povetkin handling AJs power any better than he did Wlads. As much as I'm sold on Povetkin every time I go back and watch his fight v Wlad it just highlights the levels I'm afraid and to put things in perspective even David Haye lasted the distance against Wlad whereas Povetkin just gets beaten up on every level, also they've got a shared opponent in Takam,Povetkin got a KO in a hard scrap whilst AJ just did what he said he'd do by winning every round up to 10. Personally I still wanna see Wilder v Povetkin and if Povetkin and Ortiz haven't been found guilty of using PEDs then both should still be able to fight him no?
Literally make's zero sense...... Afraid of Wilder but takes a fight that poses just as much if not more risk but less reward?
IMO joshua would ko povetkin and do it in style watching povetkin last time out over 12 v rudenko and he was flatfooted /not much head movement/followed his opponent without creating angles / telegraphed every left hook with instructions. his punches never had much snap in them. povetkin has a good resume but they are all v non punchers whenever wlad landed in there fight povetkin was hurt or decked and that was wlad going backwards. the povetkin right could land and hurt AJ but joshua is pretty good at ducking left hooks and parrying those that he wants to povetkin loads up to throw punches and drops his guard and this is where wlad and IMO aj would catch him with left hooks rather than right hands gameplan would be to jab him wait for mistakes and use his size and power to control and counter. biggest danger was if AJ got macho and turned it into a slugging fight and got caught by something big in an exchange and then he could definatley get hurt and perhaps stopped povetkin is not hard to hit and fighting so many of the divisions light hitters has meant he usually does not worry about taking a shot to give one and it is my opinion AJs firepower will make it to hard for povetkin to try his usual tactics and walk through him to get his own punches off and if and when he does he will be hurt and stopped .
Joshua will probably only fight twice in 2018, like he did in 2017. He claims he is going to unify all the belts in 2018. So he better get busy and fight Parker & Wilder.
Be stupid of Joshuas team to put him in with Povetkin right now Has to be Parker, then Wilder in the summer in an ideal world. I think the Parker fight is easy enough too make right now, Wilder still thinks hes in a position to call a 50/50 which he really isnt so once he dilutes his ego a bit and realises it then that fight should be easy enough too make too.
Povetkin would knock Joshua out! Hell, VADA had to frame Povetkin to keep him from knocking Wilder out and they did the same to Ortiz! Povetkin was cleared by VADA, but the WBC had to protect Wilder that Haymon fraud! Ortiz did not take a PED! WBC must protect Wilder against any threat. Wilder has never fought a legit opponent!
