Bermane was so over hydrated he actually came in to the ring looking like a pear!! This content is protected
king got stiverne his number 1 ranking. there was no fix in place besides this / i think of it the same as newspaper editors able to influence policy with politicans and don king and suliman being the oldest allies. that stiverne has not put any training whartsoever to get in shape in years was obvious / he never had a single muscle visable on his body / a disgrace for a fighter getting paid when you think of all the people who would trade anything to have a shot at a heavyweight world title belt. that stiverne ended up out cold bent over backwards in the very first round not having thrown a punch in the 3 mins i hope will emabrress him to raise his head above the parapit again.
should have said not raise his head above the parapit /got to stop watching tv when i post .especailly when i am in my 50s and watching how to train your dragon
Stiverne got caught. Not everyone is going to do that to Stiverne. He shouldn't have ever been allowed to become a mandatory. It's like Takam. He lost his title shot, and beat two bums and became a replacement for Pulevs bum ass. How Pulev became a mandatory is a joke in itself as well. He fought 5 bums and became a mandatory under the WBA.
Fixed in the sense that the WBC ranked a shot Stiverne as #1 without any merit whatsoever.. The fight itself? No. Stiverne was shot to bits and probably isn't even a top 50 HW anymore.
No really it's not. Takam as a last minute replacement is quite good. He's WAY better than this bloated and shot version of Stiverne(who struggled and knocked down in his last fight prior TWO years ago by Derrick ****ing Rossy ) How so? Pulev while feasting on bums has still done as much as pretty much any other contender out there. At least he hadn't been inactive and didn't struggle with Rossy in his fight prior.. To compare an contrast. Rossy knocked down and took Stiverne close on the cards. Pulev stopped Rossy inside 5. Also has solid win of fringe contender Chisora(a lot better than laboring to a life and death decision against Rossy) Pulevs still a solid contender - Stiverne isn't.
So in other words, Takam never won a title while Stiverne has and Pulev and Stiverne beat Rossy...only Pulev was more impressive because he wasn't coming off of a layoff. Ok gotcha, lmao. Pulev was flattened, Stiverne was flattened, Chisora was flattened, Rossy and Takam were flattened. And I know that this is a part of boxing only I don't get your math. Flattened, ko'd, tko'd...they were all stopped. Gotcha, lol.
Not fixed, if you know you don’t stand much of a chance the motivation to bust your balls in training isn’t there. You might as well just show up, give it a go and get your pay. The real issue is the WBC having him as their mandatory. What the hell were they thinking and more to the point what the hell did Stiverne do to deserve this position?
Yeah a paper title that was vacated by Vitali - Beating Arreola twice to win a 'belt'. Context matters. That's irrelevant though... Because while even that Stiverne was overrated and mediocre, he was still a decent fighter unlike the one today who is completely shot. Regardless of how much you rate Stiverne due to his being a Wilder scalp it's impossible to deny at this point that Pulev and Takam are currently better operators.
That we all knew Stiverne was going to be the opponent when they were making all that noise about Ortiz is the fix if you wanna call it that.
