Not sure, last thing I heard he was training at the Wildcard as well, has anyone heard anything since then?
I get the impression he’s on a fight by fight with Eddie. If franks interested, and he feels he can do something with Quigg it would make sense for him to go with BT especially as theyve got Frampton/Selby/Warrington. Let’s face it, he’s unlikely to get LSC anytime soon and if/when he does he will be up against it away from home.
Very few of matchroom fighters are on contracts, most are fight by fight etc assume Quigg is one, makes sense for him to be at the fight for PR FOR Frampton rematch.
As has been mentioned, i think quigg is prob on a fight by fight basis now. I think scott is one of the few who hasnt benefited from a going stateside. We havnt seen any improvements, so far anyway. And some are even saying hes regressed. I do think that scott can probably work out that a move to frank could be wise for him at this point
Fight by fight definitely- if a fight with one of Frank's stable comes up Quigg will be boxing on BT.
Unless it’s the IBF mandatories often don’t mean that much in the interim. In any case Quigg will have to go wherever LSC (I’m assuming he wins) wants the fight to be, for probably not massive money and an uphill task. It might make more sense longterm to work with frank/BT if he could get to Selby or Frampton etc within in the next 18 or so months
Quigg v LSC could be a fight of the year will be a war if it happens. Can't imagine too many backward steps occurring in that fight.
I'm giving him a little more time before I say hes gone backwards. New training gym, away from home and coming back from a broken jaw i'm thinking might be it.. I didn't like the look of him in his last fight, fought stupid at times !
Yeah maybe I was being harsh saying Hearn should let him go but like you I thought he looked poor last time out and the fight before that he got hit far to easily and often. I'm not sure who trains him, is it Roach? If so why isn't Roach travelling with him and is Roach in good enough health to be hands on? I thought it was a bad move at the time and still do, I'm sure it's a great experience for him and he is rubbing shoulders with some top fighters but we haven't seen any benefit of all that so far.
I agree, I don't think its a good idea going the wild card. Hes not a big enough name for Roach to dedicate a lot of time to by the sounds of it. Plenty of great trainers in UK to choose from too.
