Lomo grinds him down with accuracy and power, forcing the cuban to either fight or run.

If Rigo fights, Lomo TKO's him in rounds 4-7. If Rigo runs, which I think he will, it's either a lopsided score card win for Lomo or a late round TKO.

Depends on Rigos dodgy chin. If his chin is better than we think, it'll be a good fight that Loma will win 8-4 I reckon.

I can't see a KO happening. Both are too skilled to land anything significant IMO. I know Rigo goes down every now and then, but his head clears very quickly. He doesnt have that Amir Khan biscuit Chin thing going on IMO.

I expect a VERY cagey fight, with both fighters not committing a great deal. But a very entertaining one for the purists.

I know everything is stacked in Lomas favour, but for some reason my gut is telling me Rigo will Shock us, and pull off the victory.

Regardless of the winner i give a huge amount of respect to both fighters, and cant wait.

By no means is this fight easy to predict. Of course Loma should be considered the favorite but because of who Rig is as a boxer....his pedigree, his history and style, no one can count him out.

With that said, Rig is moving up 2 weight classes, from 122 to 130. That’s 8 pounds which doesn’t sound like a lot, but these are smaller men...the weight has a greater effect the lower in weight we go in this sport.

Rig is also older....36. Loma is 29. Rig is definitely not an old 36. He’s only fought 108 professional rounds and began his career in 2009. The rounds have all been relatively “easy”. Rig hasn’t taken much punishment so his ring odometer doesn’t have many miles. Loma on the other hand has a total of 87 professional rounds, but he began his pro career in 2013.

This is where I see the fight really lean in favor of Loma. Rig has 17 pro fights in 9 years. The inactivity for the Cuban will definitely effect his timing, his accuracy and rhythm. For a fighter like Rig...timing is everything. His style relies heavily negating his opponents speed with timing and pinpoint accuracy with his counter punches. Being so inactive will only throw off his timing and he will be forced to shake off the ring rust during the fight with Loma.

Not an ideal situation for a fight of this magnitude. Loma starts fast so Rig will be behind the 8 ball early. His window will be to come on by the mid to late rounds which might be too late? Will Rig shake off the rust, figure out his timing and get into his rhythm against Loma by round 6? I doubt it....it’s a tall order considering he will also have to overcome the dynamics Loma presents with his style of fighting.

To be honest....Rig’s accuracy hasn’t been pristine or as crisp as it was back when he faced Nonito. Rig’s timing has just been a hair off and it’s effected his accuracy. He may land, but it’s grazing or not pinpoint. Usually we expect Rig to be a sniper, but he hasn’t been that guy in his most recent fights.

The reason you notice Loma missing more is because he’s a volume puncher. It’s really as simple as that. If Loma opted to utilize his offense like Rig...throwing pot shots as the foundation of his offense it would give the appearance that he rarely misses the mark. But Loma is a combination puncher. Not all of his punches are meant to land. Some of his punches are meant to create openings for the last punches in his sequence to land. Overall, from a statistical perspective, his accuracy is higher than anyone in the sport and defensively, he’s on par with Rig.

“IF” he beats Loma....Rig will get a lot more credit than Loma would receive if he wins. You are downplaying the 8 lbs not taking into consideration these are very small men. It’s not like a heavyweight who is facing a guy with a 10 lbs weight advantage....it’s a bantamweight who weighs 122 lbs soaking wet and a featherweight who recently moved up.

Have you boxed? Only asking because it doesn’t sound like you have ever had to cut weight or had to put on weight to move up to a new weight class. I had to do it in Boxing and wrestling. It’s not easy and the body takes time to adjust and acclimate to adding mass, muscle and weight. Stamina, speed and conditioning can all be impacted. So Rig leap frogging an entire division to meet Loma is a very ambitious move. It will be considered should he win and add to how the win would be recorded, historically.

Rig is between 5’4 and 5’5....not 5’3. Loma is only 5’6...5’6 1/2 at best. Rig has a longer reach, 68 inches vs Loma’s reach 65.5 inches. There really isn’t much separation in physical dimensions between these two...the weight, muscle mass is where Loma is bigger. He’s been moving up in weight, adding muscle mass vs Rig staying in his natural division.
