Not wanting to convey the impression that most of the world doesn't know much about or care about American sports ... But, the main Eurofag game revolves around mostly smallish people kicking a ball around with their feet and occasionally bumping it with their head. Unless they play rugby ... what other sports can big hulking non-American people go into besides boxing?

When you get protected by an anti doping agency that does not examine your samples while testing the crap out of your opponents it tends to make you appear pretty damn good. of course the pid off ref and judges make for excellent back up plans.

All Ukrainians dont care much about pro boxing, they are too busy doing other things, but if they all cared they would dominate pro boxing :nut:

The average height for many European soccer teams is 6 feet and over. There are literally hundreds of thousands of European soccer players that are over 6’4 and over, the soccer talent pool is the largest in the world, so expect MANY big men participating in such a sport, but the best soccer players tend to be short, like Messi or Ronaldo. If you want to see an elite tall soccer player, Abrahimovic comes to mind. Soccer sucks up all the elite athletes everywhere, including in Mexico and Argentina, as well as Brazil. The average height of soccer players depends on the nationality, and the fact that there are MUCH more small soccer players available than those 6’4 and over.

Wrestling and Rugby also suck up all the elite large athletes. Rugby is a global sport.

It's always the excuse that comes up, but never a realistic story.
When US heavyweight boxing hit rock bottom some years ago, still one third of the entire worldwide professional heavyweight roster was occupied by Americans. Much more than every other country, and still it wasn't enough to deliver a single outstanding one. So it's not the numbers that are in the US' disadvantage, it's the fact that they don't have the massive majority and almost an entire continent with big people has been added to the roster since. Boxing isn't just Americans with a couple of Western Europeans and a couple of smallish Asians anymore.
And like mentioned, there are many, many more people who aren't athletes at all, that might have huge talent but have normal dayjobs, all over the world.

I agree Joshua is not the monster his fans think he is but he's maybe the best guy at the moment. My personal view is he won't be here for years and years and when he's knocked out he'll probably walk away. The dedication and discipline it takes to remain at the top in boxing is beyond the scope of most in team sports. It's an easy life on a roster by comparison.

The original post is a lot of nonsense. People who want to be in basketball, football, Golf, skiing would never of become boxers anyway.

Lol this is about right, unlike Wilder who hasn't had anyone to help promote him AJ as you said was getting to be a household name even before turning pro so he was hyped to death but he was also handled very well and fast tracked as a pro in just three years with hardly any rounds experience they kept stepping up far faster than any other pro HW I can think of so he deserves all the acclaim he gets in my view as he's not been scared of the loss like so many are and he's mentioned this.
That said you're not wrong, turns out he's a racist piece of **** lol

    I have to disagree.

Joshua is most definitely "good". He's got good reflexes, a decent punch selection and has decent speed. He's a clever enough boxer to work Wlad out and blast him with a trap and to spit out the mouthpiece when hurt.

What puts him over the top is his immense physicality. I personally think a guy like Takam might have a small edge on him in terms of pure boxing skills but AJ is built like a tank and can dish it out too. Chop 30lb off AJ and he'd be a name on other people's lists. But that could be said for other powerhouse fighters too, like Foreman.

What he's got is a strong base to build a career off of. If he puts in the hours he might well end up as a "great" fighter.

Ronaldo is 6 foot 2. Unless you are talking about the Brazillian Ronaldo, but he is 6 foot himself.
