Keith Thurman Says Errol Spence Showdown Is On Hold Until 2019; Says It's "Not Discussable".

It's absolutely laughable that some people actually used to act like Brook was some kind of scared ducker. Fought GGG and Spence back to back. Brave man.

 

Spence wins this IMO... SHouldt make this fight that late.. Obvious duck..

 

He just came off a big surgery you expect him to fight a elite level guy let alone spence anytime soon?

He also is trying to build up the fight fighting spence brings nothing to him at the moment he needs to build his name

Late 2018 is plenty of time for him to have a tuneup them fight Spence.

 

I thought Porter could have gotten the nod when they fought.

 

It's a blatant duck. Every commission will forego a mandatory for a unification. Using Porter as a tuneup for Spense could very well backfire. Porter has continued to improve and is a much better fight than the one who fought Brook and is a good chance of beating Thurman in a return. If this happened Thurman would get what he deserves by trying to pull the mandatory card to build his brand. He obviously has not learned from the mistakes Brooks made who fought inferior bums for peanuts and claimed he had to do it because they were mandatorys. He ended up getting messed up by GGG because that was the only way he was ever going to get a decent payday by taking the route that he chose. If a champ fights twice a year he alternates between mandatory and voluntary defenses. He could fought better opposition and secured a couple of decent paydays without having his career ruined by GGG. The big difference here is Porter is a far more threatening mandatory than Jo Jo or Gavin.

 

Runtime said he was injured, elbow issue. I believe him. People think truth is just going to walk through thurman. If runtime comes back anywhere close to 100% he will beat spence. Spences style is just all wrong for this fight and his ears will be boxed off.

 

I don't mind waiting till 2019. Both these guys are in their 20s, its not either are anywhere near declining, so a Canelo ducking GGG to wait for him to age scenario is not applicable here.

It's genuinely one fight where I don't care who wins, both are great fighters and whatever outcome we'll have a 3 belt WW champion

 

Nothing wrong with maximizing his earnings before the top of the mountain showdown with Spence. At least he's fighting good opposition in the interim. Build the fight up more. Makes the bigger down the line.

 

To be fair to Thurman, Porter & Garcia are the best wins anyone has had at WW the last couple of years.

 

Kell Brook was a better win than Porter or Garcia.
