That's the point. Just about anyone who's decent gets to play in high school. But only the absolute best players get to play college ball, and only the absolute best of those get to play pro.

 

Would have to see the odds on guys who are 6'4" and above though. In my opening post I was referring to kids who were tall and athletic. Those kids are not steered to fight. I made that very clear. I have no interest in the typical 5'9" kid who can't run or jump worth ****.

 

Why? Even if the odds on guys who are 6'4 and taller are higher, they're still not very likely to play college or pro ball.

And even if the best athletes ARE playing basketball or football as you say, the skills and physical attributes needed for those sports don't necessarily carry over to boxing. I mean, getting hit by a linebacker isn't the same as getting punched in the face by a heavyweight.

 

I would say they are significantly higher if you are 6'4" instead of 5'9". They're not higher. They are absurdly higher.

 

You didn't even address the other part of my post.

And maybe they are significantly higher, but they're still not likely to play college/pro ball.

 

If I was 6'4" and athletic you bet your ass my coaches and parents would be putting a basketball in my hands. And not a pair of boxing gloves.

 

They probably would, but that doesn't mean you'd be good enough to play at the college/pro level.

 

And if I was any good then I wouldn't be using that athleticism to box.

 

You know there's more to basketball/football/boxing than athleticism, right?

 

Nobody can address your post properly lol. You hit the nail right on the head, only a fraction of a fraction of people 6’4 and over even play sports, other professions take them up.

He keeps saying "athletic" and "big", as if the only things a boxer/football player/basketball player needs are athleticism and size.

 

Anthony Joshua makes more money than the highest paid NFL, MLB, NBA players per annum. Boxing and combat sports in general are more respected than organized team sports. Boxing is intrinsically what other sports try to be just manifested in the form of a ball and a team.
