sounds right. its pretty much 2018 already. hes still rehabbing his injury . let him fight 2 or 3 times by that time its 2019 and they will get it on. there both young enough that we can wait. its not that big of a deal the fight will happen. i respect keith to be up front and honest. if he was healthy the fight would be a go.

i mean think about it . keith fought danny in march. i predict keith wont fight again till march or so. so he will be about a year inactive untill he fights. so of course his next fight wont be errol thats just stupid. so let him knock that rust off. and once he knocks that rust off he will need a another fight to sharpen up and get his instinct and refelxes back in order. and to keep testing his elbow for a couple fights. i think they will fight in 2019 at 154 and it will be an epic fight. keith is smart he may steal some early rounds but spence is relentless and smart n calculated. thunderous body puncher. i think he will eventually hurt keith a get him outta there late in fight

This isn't even that big a fight, it's just the #1 and #2 rated welterweights getting together, not a meeting of stars. If Thurman is hoping this fight will grow into a PPV headliner in the interim, he's dreaming.

Even Danny Garcia fought his chief doubter relatively soon after it was demanded of him.

Errol Spence doubts your claim, Keith. Get in the ring and prove you're the top welter.

At the rate Thurman fights, it'll be 2021, given that his bouts have become an annual event.

A tune-up fight is a reasonable demand from Keith. Spence-Thurman in the second half of 2018 is a reasonable demand from fans.

Thurman can put the fight off until 2020, he still probably beats Spence, Spence is very one dimensional, Thurman is potentially a stylistic nightmare for him. Sure he may be putting off the fight until he's healthy or he thinks Spence has a little mileage on him, but just like with May/Pac, Mayweather was always going to be a stylistic issue for Manny. Can Spence beat Thurman, sure, but it won't be a walk in the park regardless of when it happens.

You are correct but why do the same thing when you are on top? Keith is a solid guy but I hope he doesn't go full Money May/WWF heel on us .

I now would like to fully apologize to GGG fans for calling out his bum fights when he had no choice, just like Spence and Crawford does now.

I can’t say I like how inactive Thurman has become, but damn this thread is depressing.
Keith has been injured and before that fought Garcia and Porter back to back, I can forgive him for wanting to get the rust off and test his elbow for a fight or two.
Both he and Spence are young as well. Yeah I want to see this fight but you must be joking if you think Thurman is ducking here. He has been in tougher fights than I think any current welter bar Manny. Spence’s time will come.

Thurman is stuck in a stylistic rut that will only make him prey to Spence. He wastes a lot, and Spence is built to take advantage of it. A big welter with crafty offense, a spiteful dig, the ability to cut the ring off and a penchant for heavy investment to the body - that's the Florida man's nightmare, as it takes away everything he's come to rely on. Ergo, it's going to take more than a pair of track shoes and a big, telegraphed right hand to navigate this assignment.

I haven't been overly impressed by Thurman's opposition or his performances. The ultimate manner of his victory over Chaves was notable, and Porter and Garcia are serviceable wins (notwithstanding the fact that Danny hadn't fought a single true welterweight since moving up to the 147lb limit), but the rest merits only mild credit, composed as it is of fringe contenders (JSK, Bundu) and faded, blown-up names (Diaz, Guerrero). He was also very resistant to the suggestion that he might travel to unify, back when Brook was the man holding Spence's IBF title.

While Thurman's record may have a bit more padding, I'd go as far as to say that Spence is already more proven, having made the trip to enemy turf and patiently deconstructed a very good welterweight fighter in Kell Brook (who handled Porter in a more composed and economical fashion than did Thurman, FWIW). He also gave Thurman a lesson in how to efficiently wield a size and power differential over a cute but athletically overmatched fringe operator like Leonard Bundu.

We're talking about different levels of fighter, IMO. Spence will kill Thurman's body and the head will fall around the 7th or 8th round mark.

Please give me a break. Floyd never had a reason to fear Manny. Floyd always knew Manny was a reckless overrated fighter he could take out anytime he wanted.

I'd like to give Keith the benefit of the doubt and say he's just building up the fight. Anyway Spence stops him no matter when they fight.
