"Golovkin's whirlwind tour of Mexico City included a sustained standing ovation from 100,000 fans at Azteca Stadium at half-time of the game between the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots. Golovkin, wearing his WBC world title belt, was introduced on the field at halftime and greeted by an entire stadium chanting 'Triple G' repeatedly. The following day, the Mayor of Mexico City, Miguel Angel Mancera, honored Golovkin with a proclamation declaring him a distinguished guest of the city." http://www.*****.net/2017/11/23/new...ing-ovation-by-100-000-fans-at-azteca-stadium Looks like Golovkin rates pretty high in Mexico.
Love him or hate him, the dude does a lot to promote himself out of the ring. A lot of fighters could learn from that
Wait, what? Patriots played in Mexico City? I'm from Boston. How do I not know this? Oh, because I only follow baxing. All other sports are for hos.
I hope he is asking all these Mexicans when their man is guna sign on for the rematch. Get that pressure put on Canelo and Fishnets to stop looking for other options and take the biggest fight in world Boxing, the only fight that makes sense. Forget going for that other belt it adds nothing to negotiations for the rematch and that belt will still be there to be taken after the rematch.
So Golovkin has won over Yank fans, Brits and now Mexicans, I said it once, I will say it again, what Golovkin is doing is MUCH more difficult, getting respect from multiple nationalities from established boxing countries is much more difficult then being a domestic home town fighter.
