Roy beating 'green' Hopkins or Floyd beating 'green' canelo? Both Roy and Floyd are 2 of the most decorated boxers in the last 25 years.
Or look at it this way. If Roy never meet Hopkins and Floyd never meet Canelo, will that affect their overall legacy?
Floyd was 36 and fighting a guy who was way bigger than him. "Green" Canelo was also way more accomplished than the version of Hopkins who fought Jones. Floyd had a better win.
Hopkins was 28. You'd have a hard time calling a 28 year old green. Also Jones Jr. is much better win.
Canelo could prove to be the better win, but at the end of the day Hopkins was a no named fighter who flew under the radar for years prior to the Trinidad fight., but Hopkins has had the best resume thus far... and judging off of what they accomplished, Hopkins is the logical pick.
This isn't about the Trinidad fight. It's about Hopkins when he had accomplished nothing compared to Canelo being a unified titlist and way bigger and younger than his opponent.
Going into this fight Hopkins was the #1 ranked fighter in the world at 160. And Jones was #2. Bernard was actually the favorite and considered the more polished fighter. He was in fact the more skilled fighter, but Jones Jr. was just too damn fast. So fast man. I call Bull**** on a #1 ranked 28 year old fighter green.
Also the reason why Jones Jr. will crush this poll and is already starting to crush it is because Hopkins is a better scalp than Canelo. I mean come on you guys. FFS, it's obvious.
