You still didn't watch it did you? He hit him so hard he took a knee and played it off like it was a rabbit punch.

Do you acknowledge kovalev has stamina issues as well as having issues taking body shots?

yes I did he hit him on the back of the head so he went down to make a big point to the ref grover didn't even expect the ref to call the fight off he thought he might get the ref to give kov a warning

regardless if you look at the fight he was taking shots from kova and wa advancing forward

He wanted to get a DQ win or was looking for a way out, and It was a cuffing hook of the side of his head, it didn't land cleanly enough on the back of the head to be called a rabbit punch.

    And your point is?

Why didn't Golovkin drop or legit KO Rosado, it only took Angulo 1 round to do so?

Why didn't Golovkin KO Jacobs cold? It only took Pirog 5 rounds to.

Why did it take Golovkin 8 rounds to KO Stevens, that's the same amount of time it took for Primera to KO Curtis, and it wasn't nearly as fast as Lemmy did, or as brutal, WHY COME?

Why did it take Golovkin 2 rounds to KO Rubio, it only took Jantuah ONE?

Don't start with this ****, I can bury you.

    so to summarise your argument:

Joe Smith is the best LHW because he fought with a broken jaw and because he's better than Stevenson and Ward (who is retired)
i wonder if you are familiar with the top 10 fighters in this weight class.

for instance, here are three LHWs--each one of them at least one level above Joe Smith, Jr:

    Dmitry Bivol

    Artur Beterbiev

    Oleksandr Gvozdyk

Here's Gvozdyk going two rounds with Cory Cummings.

Joe Smith Jr and Jeff Horn are the same lucky guy who were solidly outboxed by ancient HOF fighters but wrestled and gooned their way to a win and would get their clocks cleaned by any top fighter in their division.

Smith Jr. can't really fight. Very humble and likeable nice guy, huge power and heart, but technically he's poor and he's way too easy to hit. He also has a weak jaw, not weak as in he can't take a punch, weak as in it seems susceptible to breaking. Prime Kovalev destroys him, the version of recent years does too. If his jawbone can't withstand the power of the guy who broke it in his first loss and Sullivan Barrera's and the guy damaged it in sparring before that fight, then it's not holding up against Kovalev's power. Smith hits really hard and he stands a puncher's chance, as he does with every other LHW on the planet, but Kovalev is a completely different level of fighter.

Hopkins was crossing his feet doing the grandpa shuffle in the fight against Smith. His footwork in that fight and the Kovalev fight is night and day. You'd have to be a dunce to not see that.

Kovalev puts on a jab clinic against Smith like GGG did to Lemieux.

Joe Smith is arguably the hardest puncher p4p in the sport, I think he actually is. It's just outrageous power, but he doesn't have the skill to have more than a punchers chance against the very best the world has to offer.

Also I do agree that Kovalev has stamina issues and that in any fight where he has to dig deep they will be present. He blasted through the entire division until he ran into Andre Ward who has the defensive skills to make Kovalev huff and puff.

But most fighters don't have the ability to prevent Kovalev from landing. Kovalev also has vicious power. He lands and you're screwed. He will land on Smith and beat him brutally and savagely. The difference in skill level is ridiculous.

Totally agree and let’s have it right Ward only wins these big fights by having a ref who allows him to do something else in the ring cause sure as hell its not boxing what he does and if anyone of those Ward sympathisers refute this I ask them to consider what boxing would be like if Canelo and GGG fought this way and every other boxer today.

Who thought that Kovalev would look like the superior boxer and Ward the brawler,he tried to box for two rounds and got beaten up,only when he literally ran across the ring holding on to Kovalev leg And proceeded to jab, lunge, hold n wrestle for the rest of the fight was Ward given rounds on account that only Ward does this with the blessing of the US judges and Ref.
Boxing is not gonna miss this boring, corrupt piece of **** and what makes it worse is that in the tune ups he boxed nicely it’s only in big fights does Ward do this crap cause he knows he can.
No surprise this guy couldn’t sell out small arenas or ever risk travelling, that he couldn’t fathom how Floyd had fans and haters who paid to see him speaks volumes to his ego and how he was unable to admit to himself that his career was down to his wrestling skills, low blows, head butts and even the odd elbow
