Yes and the “some” would make a difference. Overall. I think the penny has dropped.

Lord. I'll take this as confirming you believe Primo is better than Vitali, Wlad, Furey and Joshua.

Good point . But a loss is not major a factor especially if it is not in
a Title fight. Two greats Salvador Sanchez and Khaosai Galaxy
had one early career loss and it didn't effect there legacy one bit.

Fitting right in does not mean better. Primo fits in with modern 260 pounders and the guys they fight. But Carnera could have a belt today for sure. Why not?

Ok, you have certainly backtracked and ran for the hills from your original statement. I would have too.

I suppose it would depend how much $$$$ they wanted. Carnera gets stopped by Joshua,Wilder ,and Parker.
All have excellent right hands and it was hard to miss Primo with one.

Fury would humiliate him to take an easy decision.

They would be 50-50 fights. If josh can’t stop him (and he has none of the speed of Louis) he could fade. Apart from his win over wlad I saw nothing from Fury to trouble carnera. Parker? He’s better than folks think. But still 50-50. Wilder sucks. He’s 50-50 with victorio Campolo. He’s not ready for Carnera level yet.

Carnera was a manufactured hulk who went to pieces when he got tagged, he lacked both power and a decent chin. You don't need speed to ko Carnera, Baer didn't have any, and his punches could be seen coming a mile away. Wilder has a decent fast jab when he elects to use it,he is much faster than Primo and hits on the level of another planet! Carnera was dropped by Sharkey and Stribling! Wilder would decapitate Carnera.

I still stand by it. Every rated fighter today lacks ability wise compared to Lewis and Bowe and Primo compares well against all other 260 pounders. Favourably.

I said primo would have a belt today.
Charles Martin and now Manuel Charr have been able to pick up legitimate world titles. Why not da Preem?

IMO, Ali and Liston and many of the 70's heavies were the bridge between the era of old time heavies and modern day heavies. They could fit in with both era's. And as a result I think that the smaller, old time heavies would have a better chance of beating them than some of the modern SHW's. Ali and Wlad were both "heavyweights", but Ali was actually closer in weight to Marciano than he was to Wlad.

Wlad was 6'6 250 pounds, prime Ali 6'3 210 lbs and Marciano 5'10 185 pounds. Twenty five pounds separating Ali and Marciano, but 40 pounds separating Ali and Wlad. And yet many think Ali would beat Wlad. Even though, vs Wlad, Ali wouldn't be the puncher in the ring. Wlad would be the bigger man and bigger puncher. With Marciano vs Ali, Marciano would be the smaller man but bigger puncher.

Liston vs Marciano would be hard to say, but a prime Liston was 6'1 212 pounds. Granted, he was powerfully built, but he was only 27 pounds bigger than a prime Marciano and Marciano likely possessed enough punching power to ring Liston's bell if he got clean shots in. But a prime Lewis would have just as much of a size advantage over Liston as Liston would have over Rocky and yet, many feel that Liston could have beaten Lewis.

Size matters, but once you get about 180ish or so, it matters less so and you have to evaluate the individual fighters. Chuvalo was about as big as Liston, yet the size didn't help him vs Floyd Patterson like it did for Liston.

You can only judge fighters of how they did in their own time. Since he's undefeated and cleaned out the division, his legacy has to rate among the greatest.
