We've never seen him fight at SMW.

He's recently struggled with Danny Jacobs.

How do we know he'd have steamrollered Taylor?

I respectfully disagree he was elite. He was elite at 168 and a top 10 p4p fighter. Also froch will probably go into the hof.

 

My definition of elite are guys like Andre and Floyd etc. But fair enough, everyone's criteria is different.

He was elite, as in he was in the top 3 of his division, so yeah, you can call him elite if you want. I've no issue with that.

 

Froch was similar size to Jacobs if not bigger. Long rangey with a stiff jab, Big puncher, solid chin with great recovery skills.

I think Froch would beat GGG too big too skilled, Golovkin could have made 154 in his prime.

Froch always gets underrated he was a beast though.

well, we can all speculate, but the fact is that both fighters in this fantasy match-up agreed on the outcome:

GGG obviously believes he would have won; and apparently Froch agreed with him.

GGG responded by accepting the challenge

GGG agreed to fight Froch at 168+, and agreed to a UK venue.

Froch is oddly obsessed with GGG--eg, several times, since his retirement, he mentions GGG via Twitter.

 

You missed the keyword in my statement which was "PRIME", If you think GGG is still in his prime you don't know much about GGG.

 

I said "PRIME" 2011 version of GGG beats Froch quite easily for the reasons I already stated. Prime Froch would struggle with Danny Jacobs by the way, he struggled like **** against slick guys.

 

Prime ggg would struggle with Kessler Pascal dirrell and flat out gets clowned by ward. there is nothing to suggest that ggg beats froch quite easily.

 

That's the version who got hit entirely too much by a faded, blown-up Kassim Ouma.

And I am aware that Ouma lost and went to the hospital afterwards - when two durable guys eat large quantities of one another's punches, it's usually the bigger puncher that prevails (especially when he's the fresher man).

 

Prime Kessler would beat GGG, prime Kessler without Ward's heabutts beats Andre Ward as well. Prime GGG vs the Kessler who faced Ward, I'd slightly favour GGG as Kessler was past his best. GGG knocks out both Dirrells, even now. Pascal would be an interesting fight, he's still losing on the cards to 2011 GGG just from being outworked. I've always fancied Ward to beat GGG at 168lbs, I'm not a fanboy who thinks GGG is unstoppable. I'd favour GGG at a 164lb CW though.

 

I don't really see any significant decline in Golovkin, anyway. He's pretty much a model pro who lives well and never depended on extraordinary speed or reflex, his gas tank is still good. The resistance level has just gone up a bit from fringe caliber guys like Macklin and Geale.

 

GGG could have won that fight on the back-foot if he wanted to, you must know that right? He walks through people's punches to finish them off, that's his fan pleasing style. Of course he's going to get tagged, did Ouma hurt him, has anybody hurt him?

 

GGG's power has slightly declined, that's obvious.
