For sure. Problem is, the way Bud's been outclassing guys, it'd take a couple levels of improvement from his opposition to be genuinely competitive instead of being blown out of the water.

I can't completely write off someone of Pac's caliber, but my gut says that Pac-Crawford, in 2018, is a passing of the torch kind of fight. Arum wants it because Bud's brand will be harder to build up to mainstream levels without it. He's a shrewd mofo- he wasn't going to push hard for it until Bud winning was as much of a sure thing as possible. The last thing Bob wants is for Pac to take out a future cash cow with plenty of fights ahead of him when Pac's in the last stretch of his own career.

 

I have no idea why Pac and Arum are pursuing this fight? It will end badly for Pac.

Pac doesn't have anything to lose legacy wise. A loss to a top p4p talent isn't gonna diminish his ATG status. If his physical health is okay, and if the paycheck is right, I could see him taking it.

 

If Arum makes it now, he's a snake. Things were lopsided in Crawford's favor two years ago. This won't be a fight, but a mugging.
