I think James is on the slide now, the two fights between Porky and Jack took a lot out of him, if he fights Eubank or Groves I would pick both against him at this moment.

However after seeing how Benavidez struggled against a fighter like Gavril, I’m thinking Degales inside work will be too much for benivadez. With Benavidez being so tall his punches slow down the close you get and if you slip some of shot the guy is there to be hit.

Thoughts on this match up? I got Degale UD.

Slight edge to Degale. He did lose against Jack and got beaten the **** out of so who knows. Maybe Benavidez finishes Jack's work.

Well in Benavidez's defense, I saw DeGale struggle, and arguably lose to a fighter Benavidez absolutely devastated.

Maybe Gavril is just damn good against a relatively stationary fighter like David.

Benavidez could've stopped Gavril if he fought at his best. He was hurting him when he walked him down and let his hands go. That's what he does best: he walks you down, steps to the side to create angles, and unleashes those hooks to head and body and those nasty uppercuts of his. But, as his father correctly pointed out during an interview shortly after the fight, that ''splosion'' was missing in that fight.

Slow off the draw mate, but yours has got a poll so will post what I posted in my thread yesterday.

I think it’s to soon for David to take this fight, degale took a lot of punishment in jack fight maybe he will never be the same plus we’re yet to see how his shoulder will hold up after surgery but I think he would ud David unless David can really take advantage of the rounds witch degale usually takes off in middle of every fight.

But it’s a huge step up for David degale is such a natural talent just a shame about his application in each fight.

Lool I’m not really on this as much so I think post whatever comes to my mind or read recently.

I agree with you, Degale like the mental concentration and gas tank to go with his natural ability, for a guy with so many attributes he really is incomplete.

I think Benavidez could of stopped him he would of imo, I don’t like when fighters say what they could of done after the fight it’s pointless.

Tbh I think Benavidez looks his best inside/mid range, that's where he can work and get his shots off.

For a big guy he has all the tools, his hand speed is excellent for his size but is sluggish compared to Degale. Power is excellent, combination punching is very good. Maybe he can get better conditioned and he lacks experience which is why he needs to avoid Degale who will school him.

Benavidez can throw all the punches but its funny how lost he looked against Gavril who employed a high guard and a little lateral movement. He really didn't seem to be able to break his defence down and quickly got fatigued. People here like to claim a high guard with no head movement is so easy to deal to, it wasn't easy at all for this kid.

Benavidez is too green for the big dogs and will get beaten up, give him a year or 2 and he will be hard to beat if he can improve his offensive arsenal. His defence is actually quite slick, and he does knock shots down well for counters but he can be easily tagged when he has the machismo going

Benavidez is naturally a very big guy; he's also just 21 years old, so pretty clearly he'll only manage at 168 for a little while longer

it's also pretty clear why he (or anyone else) might want to delay a move to LHW as long as possible--eg, Kovalev, Beterbiev, Dmitri Bivol, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Badou Jack, and Eleider Alvarez.

in any case, i think the fight Degale ought to ask for is Gilberto Ramirez (aka Zurdo), who i'm pretty sure is also a Top Rank fighter. Like Degale, he is not fighting in the SMW tournament, Zurdo needs to step up and fight, so this is a great chance for him as well. What's more, Zurdo is ranked higher than Benavidez--again, match more suited to Degale, given what he's accomplished at SMW

He was definitely missing that ''splosion'' that he usually has. I think it'll be back for the rematch.
