So the only path to victory for Ali has to be a KO, right? Unless there's an undisclosed injury to Cotto and the legend ends up limping around the ring in a shell getting pasted (ironically, like Yuri Foreman did against him) en route to a decision loss?

How shocking would an upset KO by Ali be? Not only is his stoppage rate pretty low for a world class fighter, he lacks a single outstanding signature win by KO/TKO. Jorge Silva and Luis Carlos Abregu were formerly tough guys but had been worn down by years of wars and were both at the end of their ropes (and both went on to do nothing but lose afterwards, just confirming they were shot when Ali fought them). What else? KO1 blitz of ancient little Michael Clark?

 

I expect to see Cotto get a tko, but would not be shocked if Ali somehow gets one.

Cotto is lining up the right hand on the body while Ali bounces around outside. Ali jumps in and floats a double jab with a light right hand behind it, skimming Cotto's sleekly groomed eyebrows. Cotto is rolling to his left, popping the shoulder up, feinting with shallow right uppercuts to Ali's body and pump-faking combos while Ali skitters along the ropes. Cotto lurches forward, then draws back and finally boomerangs with a right hand on the chest while Ali is resetting. Ali tagging him on the way out with the quick jab.
