How would both men fight the other?
    How would it play out?
    And who would win?

The manner in which Liston would tear down Morrison would make Mercer's treatment seem downright humane.

Liston would smack Morrison into Bolivian...or back to Oklahoma, one or the other.

Michael Bennett ko Morrison in 93 sec for WBO HW title.
Cannot see how Morrison can last any longer against Liston.

Going with the Duke. This isn't going too be a long fight so stamina is a non issue. Mercer was getting BATTERED before inexperienced Morrison ran out of steam....

If Morrison handled big George and Ruddock both hit harder than Liston, he can knock out the less chinned Liston.

Morrison wasn't a small guy, he was bigger than Liston, faster and hit harder. Yes he could actually fight too believe it or not...lol. And possessed great body shots and awesome left hook .

Morrison would be the favorite here and not underestimate Liston.

    How would Morrison fight this?
Box on the outside or fight toe to toe?

This fight would end brutally like the Mercer fight in under 3 rounds.

    Liston KO (ouch)

If Morrison slugs he gets KOd quickly. If he boxes, then Morrison goes down at some point and gets finished. foreman was maybe 5 years too old but Liston would stun him with a jab that had a quicker trigger than george's and would finish him with a 2 fisted barrage. Liston is more agressive than Lewis. It would be brutal. Morrison was better than people here think but he was chinny and overzealous. Liston is a terrible style match up for him as well.

first off, my pick is liston by stoppage. but this nonesense about morrisson getting tooled.........get the **** real!!

morrison was known for a weak chin.......but not THAT weak. he only got stopped three times. sure bentt caught him cold and dropped him three times....so what?? dempsey got ko´d in round one by Jim Flynn. big deal.

what morrisson had was HEART!! he´d go down but he´d get up. or he went down fighting.
Liston was more of a bully. he was a great boxer with a termendous jab and big power. but we also cant Forget that most of the fights he had he fought smaller light hitting opponents. the only big power Puncher he faced was big cat Williams....by far his best wins (outside Patterson imo.).

when it was time for him to prove his mettle when getting tooled by ali........he quit like a *****. and in the rematch, ali, not a murderous Puncher, put him out with one right Hand. and at the tailend of his Career, leotis Martin starched him with one Punch.

so the idea of liston Walking through this guy with a grin on his face is absolutely rediculous. morrisson was slightly bigger than liston..........and could ko a house with his left hook. he was athletic and had Talent and balls.
not the type of guy liston liked to mess with.

A roided up Morrison could do a lot of damage to a non PEDed Liston. However, all things being equal, it seems like Liston would win. Then again, one could ask who competed in the tougher era? Which makes Morrison a bit underrated IMO ( like Razor Ruddock would dominate most of Liston's victims )

Toe to Toe. Liston's not going to be hard to find at all and neither is Morrison. But Morrison has severely underrated speed too. Getting clipped with fast counter shots and waiting patient wouldn't be Liston's style.

The only other time I saw Morrison struggle with a smaller guy off the bat was Yuri Vaulin a very tough southpaw also not Liston like. I actually sparred this guy in the late 90's , and can tell you he had a very good boxing IQ.

One has to assume Morrison would need to tire out to lose here or get hit with a back footed fighter trying to catch him coming in. I can't think of many guys coming straight in on him and winning.

People forget (or dont know) Sonny was knocked down by Leotis Martin.
Tommy by KO in the first 4 rounds o Liston by KO round 7-10

People know full well he was dropped by Martin. There is a thread showing this exact happening on page 1 here. What people realize is that Liston is about a decade post peak having his second last fight ever and more than a small amount over the hill. He was at the very least 36-37.

In summing up the vast majority realize it means practically nothing. It's like saying people forget Holmes stopped Ali when looking at an Ali matchup. Or that Camacho stopped SRL when matching him against Mayweather.
