Should Andre Ward come out of retirement to fight Charr for the WBA title?

You know Carr's a heavyweight, right? I remember a super middleweight knocking down Ward. There are weight classes for a reason. And don't give some nonsense that, " Ward won't get hit". Ward rough stuff won't do a damn thing to a real heavyweight.

I don't see any way Ward could lure Charr, or any beltholder, into taking him on in Oakland for a pittance, which is the only way he fights them let's be honest. And I don't see any networks willing to take on the fight, either for significance sake (since many people don't hold Charr to be a real champion) or for money's sake (Ward's box office poison and Charr is unknown in America).

So there'll be no money in the pot (of which little Ward will demand to take the lion's share of), stacked decks in Ward's favour, and little to gain from the victory for either man since no one will care one way or another.

Charr would have to be mad to even entertain it.

All true and Fury is so tall that the usual low blows would merely hit Fury's kneecaps and the headbutts would
be chest butts. Taking away this main offensive weapons would put Ward at a serious disadvantage so the victory would be even sweeter.

A tune up with David Price would be amusing. Then again ANY David Price fight is amusing.

Yes, he is. But Ward would get hit sometime in the fight and then its lights out.

The question that began this thread suggests that Ward is a guy who retired because he just ran out of legitimate challenges in his weight class

that's not true or even close to it

at this moment, there are five guys at LHW that could put Ward away

and Ward wanted to fight none of them so he retired

that aside, if this fight were to take place, who would watch it? (a poll?)

in what way would the result have any significance for boxing?

charrs promoter said the fight v ward could take place in syria where ward is sure to be a big hit /
must be 50/50 in purse share as charr holds the WBA plastic 3rd tier heavyweight title and ward will have to pay him well if he wants such a shiny trinket.

ward has come back with a rival offer that he would be willing to fight outside of oakland but san fransico is as far as he can travel overseas /he is the star and wants 95% of the purse and syrian tv PPV rights and all building rights to the golan heights .

Kovalev is much better than Charr but Kovalev doesn't punch as hard. Ask any light heavy who tried their hand at heavyweight. It truly is a different game.
