Imagine that the boxing fairy comes and magically changes you into a modern day heavyweight contender. You are then given a choice to go back in time and fight a 1988 Mike Tyson or a 1973 George Foreman, which one would you rather fight and why?

Whoever brought the most money. Seriously. You're gonna get splattered either way so may as well cash in, right?

I would rather get knocked out by Tyson than get knocked out by Foreman. For the sole reason i can go down the pub and tell my mates i got knocked out by a prime Mike Tyson. If it didnt kill me it would feel like a really painful honour.

If this magic fairy gave me enough skills / physical ability to actually have a faint chance of causing the upset I'd probably pick Tyson. Runners with a jab could give him problems, and the jab n' grab seemed to frustrate him. I think it might be possible to stink out the joint for long enough for his nervous energy to burn out and to have some sort of a chance in the late rounds.

To beat Foreman a faint chance probably wouldn't be enough because it took some sort of superlative quality, either punching or boxing or toughness wise to upset him.

Foreman, without question. I've boxed on and off for about 15 years now and have 7 amateur fights -- all at light heavy. Obviously I'd be totally ****ed against either of them just like everybody else, but Tyson is probably the worst hypothetical match up for me of all time. At least against Foreman I'd have a speed advantage. Against Tyson I would not have a single advantage except height and reach, which against Tyson would end up being a serious disadvantage and undoubtedly a large part of the highlight reel KO equation en route to me being totally posterized.

They'd score me highly on the double pirhouette I'd do, not to mention the entry into the water ... er, canvas.

Would you rather get mauled by a grizzly or hit by a car? Same difference. After a certain point, an ass kicking is just an ass kicking.

If I had to fight either I would happily relapse on heroin, crack, and alcohol, and would merrily strut into the ring blitzed on the above three with my chin gladly up and open waiting for the KO so I could pick up the check and support the addictions I just relapsed on.

Definitely Foreman because you could dive as you saw a punch coming, with Tyson its questionable whether you would see the punch...

I would be practicing my diving skills in training camp, and my ability to run backwards and sideways

I suspect I could run away from Foreman for a bit longer than Tyson. Although it would just delay the inevitable painful ktfo.

Id say to the boxing fairy to use it's powers to give David Price the skills/stamina/chin/confidence/everything else he lacks yo be a contender. Although that would need to be some powerful boxing fairy.

precisely, the speed of tyson would be absolute terrifying, atleast with foreman you could see a few coming, although your block wouldnt be much good.

Personally, I'd fight Foreman as he'd be easier to evade and counter and I'd be more likely to see his punches coming. As a side note, this is why I'd pick Louis to beat Foreman but I'm not too sure on him against Tyson.
