As soon as the bell rings, each man immediately hops on his bicycle and starts peddling. There's a lot of dancing and flicking of jabs from the outside, with Tyson moving back and trying to lure Mercer to the ropes and occasionally slipping out of the corner. By the mid rounds it's clear not much is going to happen unless someone commits to an attack, and the crowd starts to boo because it doesn't happen. Tyson is patient, attempting to wear Mercer down by picking his shots, and Mercer is content with the occasional cautious counter. An uneventful fight ends in a perfunctory split decision that that no one really gets fired up enough to dispute or debate one way or the other.

Naw, I'm just f***in' with you.
    Did I have anybody going?

upset. tyson mauls him for 3-4 rounds........only to find out that mercer simply dont give a **** and keeps coming. by round six, mercer starts nailing tyson, pushing him back. tyson Comes back with fury, but mercer just eats the shots and keeps coming. in round nine, mercer starts hammering him. and tyson quits on his stoo.

Tyson.. busts his face up worse than Cooper does.... Ray gets hit with too many shots... maybe his chine survives but the swelling and cuts will end up stopping the fight in Tyson's favor by the 9th round

Mercer was a nutter one of the few Tyson would not intimidate I could see this becoming rough at the press conference and weight in the fight would be a war with this version of Tyson more of a brawler than the early version and he would take some.very big shots from Ray and.land his own .Mercer said early in his career he would give Tyson the name canvas back perhaps he could?.I think Tyson wins a very hard fight on points due to his greater volume of punches.A war! Pity it didn't happen.

And in prime Holmes vs prime Ali they plod towards each other, each man neglecting any semblance of defense and winging wide looping shots

Yeah, Ray Mercer was never ready for Mike Tyson. The proposed 2002 showdown would've been interesting, though.

Mike's got the smarts to attack Ray's body if he doesn't get the headhsot KO.

That's an angle most aren't pondering.
