Would you consider Michael Moorer a Great Fighter?

Great skilled southpaw but not a great fighter.

Just BC you can fight at high level doesn't make you a great fighter you need passion and heart for the fight game and that's what he lacked. Surely he can defeat many guys but I know trying to train a guy like this and following instructions in the ring would be like walking on egg shells...Atlas found that out....lol

 

I thought he showed a lot of heart against Bert Cooper. But, you know, it was Bert Cooper.

 

Are we shitting on Bert now? Last time I checked Cooper was one of the most dangerous fighters in the world for quite a period of time, especially considering he was really a blown up cruiserweight with a drug habit.

No, I didn't mean any disrespect of Cooper, really. But nobody is going to confuse him for a great fighter. I don't think people should confuse Moorer for a great one, either.

 

Cooper was an exceptionally dangerous fighter, not a great one. Agreed that Moorer himself isn't a great fighter, though I think he possessed very high level skills. He was chinny and undersized at heavyweight, that's really all there is to it.

 

A real black mark...and one that he never tried to avenge.
