the13thr, usually has the inside scoop on where all the obscure boxing cards are televised or streamed around the world, he says there has been no follow-up confirmation that Makabu vs. Durodola is still on for Dec. 6th in over a month now. The promoter's website, that of the channel in Africa that was going to show it, the WBC's - nada. He's a pretty reliable source IMO. His best guess is this will be another in the long string of African fights that gets bumped to a new date (at least once, with it not uncommon for the can to be kicked down the road for up to a year)

 

You get banned for asking for a legal stream of a fight? Sounds daft...

 

CST, just saw this pop up on my social media feed and thought of your post from earlier. Thought I would present it without comment as sort of a contrast with your opinions, but also in a strange way kind of a flip side of the same coin. (the author of the post is a kid I used to do stand-up comedy with, and whose opinions I respect - he's a PhD and research Archaeology Fellow - but he's what you would probably deem an SJW loony-lefty)

You do kind of seem to reach the same conclusions, in a fashion, if not from the same perspective.


I Just Realized Something:
Trump is right when he says he isn't racist or sexist. He means "compared to America." He certainly doesn't think he is. He is, at his "heart," an unscrupulous and abusive businessman and absolutely nothing more or less. He adapts to his environment to "succeed." He is a textbook sociopath. He is a black mirror (as sociopaths can be), as it were, of America. An America where its OK to accept your (racial, gender-based, socioeconomic) privilege and fight to keep it, all the while denying it exists and calling it "individual circumstance." An America where a woman's "sexiness" is her key asset, and where only "exceptional women" "rise above their disadvantages." An America where POC aren't "worse" but white people are definitely better. His language is the doublespeak Americans (left and right) have built to avoid dealing with our deep and troubling societal problems.

And he wins. He wins when we call him racist, when we call him sexist. He wins because he isn't speaking to us. He wins because the rules he follows are not his own, they are rules he observed and evolved under in order to "succeed."

We need to change the rules faster than he can adapt.
