We all know Golovkin cuts off the ring beautifully, even against Canelo when he did push forward he had no problem cutting him off, it's just even with Canelo in front of him he found it hard to hit him cleanly. Golovkin offensively is superb technically. Good jab, good body puncher, varies his punches, cuts off the ring better than anyone else etc. He does telegraph some of his punches though, which is why a good defensive boxer like Canelo can stand in front of him and slip shots. But defensively Golovkin is pretty ordinary. Minimal head movement, open guard, too much weight on his front foot. Luckily for him he has a granite chin and his offence minimises his opponents offence.
Golovkin is so good because he hits like a mule, hes physical strong, and has and iron chin. His opponents are on the backfoot as soon as the bells rings, and it lets him dictate the pace of the fight. Jacobs is the only guy to get him out of his comfort zone, and it was a close fight that i thought jacobs won.
