Fights (Parker & Wilder) not happening? Most people are blaming the promoters or Parker & Wilder, but nobody is mentioning AJ.
How about Wilder's and Parker's greed? Joshua just wants most of the money he himself generates. And certainly Wilder wants half of the money from which Joshi generates the lions share of. Parker isn't worth that much either. Of course Joshua is greedy, but it's the challengers that want to cash out. It's like fighting Floyd. Hitting the jackpot but in this case trying to double down with the chance you end up with nothing at all.
I have been. Sorry ya missed me my dude. I explained in a thread discussing Wilder that AJ and Hearn do not set market value and draw is only an element of that process. In a thread covering Parker I rhetorically asked if AJ's being priced out of championship unification matches. These kids like to believe promoters. They're shitslurpers just slurping up bull**** all day long. Whether their news comes from articles, social media, promoters, or broadcasters nobody's ever bothered to look to someone whose job isn't to spin information.
For the Parker fight yes I'd say AJ and Hearn are partly to blame if the fight doesn't happen, just as much as Parker and Higgins. The numbers being thrown around for this fight seem reasonable, anything between 25-35% for Parker seems about right. In regards to the Wilder fight then no, it's all Wilder and his team. Wilder isn't worth anywhere near close to 50/50 unless US PPV is involved and that's unlikely at the moment given the fact neither Joshua or Wilder are proven draws in the US let alone PPV worthy. Unless Wilder and Finkel can guarantee US PPV then asking for 50/50 is simply out of the question, even 60/40 would be too much.
Nah don’t get so caught up in it,both fights will happen and believe me both sides know what they doing, just hyping things up is all
There isn't a single World Class sportsman who isn't greedy. It's how you end up in a situation where the likes of Parker and Wilder are willing to throw away the chance to make millions unless they are paid 10 times their highest paydays. And how you get Joshua unwilling to take a paycut for the fight.
Blame AJs greed when... Wilder is allegedly turning down 8 million MORE than he has ever earned, and Parker is turning down 6 million MORE than he has ever earned Seems to me that Wilders fear and ego is getting in the way, and Parkers promoters egos are getting in the way. Let me repeat again % and splits are meaningless, this a business. Being realistic here AJ could fight a guy outside the top 5 and still earn more 8 million. AJ is the prize here and he earns a very good amount of money by not facing either of these opponents. They should be chasing him, not moaning like girls blouses over the split. They must be scared or egostistical.
AJ is coming off a huge win in one of the best heavyweight fights this millennium. He beat a Hall of Famer in Wlad which is more than Parker or Wilder have ever done, combined. He’s proven he’s willing to do megafights. He’s proven he can sell. There’s a difference between 90K in Wembley and 12K in ‘bama.
Im no expert on these issues but I see it in a similar way from my understanding. For example If fighter A normally gets 8mil in their fights and thats 80% of the pot and fighter B normally gets 2mil in their fights and thats 80% of the pot, decide to face each other and the overall pot is 10mil its doubtful to me that things would be 50/50. If fighter A & B were to face each other and fighter B was getting 3.5mil even though it not be their usual 50% it would be more than they normally get So the question with that example would be who is at fault? Does that make sense? It could be that it doesnt work at all that way and this post is complete rubbish but hopefully people get what I mean?

See how many posts are more or less " But it's dem doe" while they continue to beat the it's all about draw drum? Someone around here already explained it's more about gains. The teams seem to believe they have some kind of bargaining chip. Maybe instead of calling them greedy or stupid maybe you ought to ya know, investigate, rather than explain your assumptions and what Hearn has told the press like we've not heard it a million times over at this point. Or whatever, talk about millions made or asses in seats like that's explained ****balls and reflects the current situation. Never heard, not once, of a cash cow being avoided because they don't pay enough. Who here is going outside of standard practice?
The shame of it all is no one is saying Joshua cannot be the ring magazine / lineal champion. He looks to be the best, but that needs to be proven in the ring. If Joshua keeps avoiding makeable fights with Parker, Povektin, Ortiz, and Wilder, and settles for non-worthy opponents like Dominic Breazeale, Charles Martin, and Eric Molina, his legacy is in jeopardy, and that would suck. Heavyweight boxing should be the clash of the tians, not an avoidance of each other where they pray upon second raters and just presented to the public to be interested in the crucial matches. I am quite sure Joshua would make more vs. Wilder or Parker than anyone he meets next. So take the payday, and please eliminate the world from Wilders profound belt milking before you become too much like him.
Wilder is a bigger threat than Parker. Parker and his team will more than likely screw up any fight negotiations with the attitude they are taking towards making this fight. It makes it look like they know they will get beaten and are using the fight purse as an excuse to avoid taking the fight. Wilder.....well he is a big puncher who will need a big payday to compensate himself for his loss of his 0 if he loses. So basically both him and Parker are holding their belts hostage until the ransom demands are met.
The best is Hearn has stated that both wilder and Parker can take the US and New Zealand tv money and Joshua's take the uk tv money. Seems fair to me. Parker and wilder have said no to this. I wonder why??
