Wilder hits much harder than Tyson. However, Tyson is way more efficient with his power and his timing and his speed allowed him to punch guys when they were most vulnerable. Wilder just hits people and if he connects they go down.

Tyson used proper technique and got his whole body to work with him. Wilder just flaps away until something lands.

Let's put it like this. Power is Wilder's best attribute by far.

I'd say that Wilder's Sunday-best punch probably is going to be better than Tyson's. But to get to that one he's going to flail around, get hit a bunch of times and look bad, and then win.

Tyson would land a series of slightly less hard, but far more compact and accurate punches in a crushing performance and be taking a shower while Wilder is still windmilling away.

Skill wise he has nothing going for him but power. His spacing/timing are the worse of any belt holder/any division that i can think of; not mentioning the windmilling. Even so, we like it or not, the guy is a champ...
He is an overachiever in my book and you have to respect that.

 

Who knows if he learned how to punch correctly then maybe,as it is we can’t really say as there’s levels to this and up to date his best opponent is Bermaine Stiverne,hardly the stuff of legend is it.

I can see the Wilder V AJ fight going the same way as Charles Martin just on account of Wilder not having fought anyone.
