James Degale I’ve enjoyed watching through the years but the man is a total fruitcake in as much as before every fight he tells how his last fight he was fighting with just one lung working and two broken hands and he always follows this up with but now I’m in the best shape of my career lol.
So knowing Degale as we do and the fact that he has no scruples and will often tell us he was lying about being in the best shape, has anyone any ideas what his excuse will be?.

Oh and one last point he was talking about how in 2018 he would fight The rest without even adding if I get past this guy, also said if he don’t knock him out it will be a poor show lol.
Have your cake and eat James

    I’m stunned
I didn’t even bother with this fight and I’m a fan of Degale

I saw the RBR and was in shock

Never was high on DeGale, he got a clear gift against Jack.
Luckily for him he's in a poor division and can still bounce back.

Even someone like Jacobs, Charlo or Derevenchenko would clean his clock.
    Stay at 168 James.

I don't care what anyone says - he flat out just doesn't work hard enough or apply himself. Literally no other reason, maybe injuries contribute but it's mainly what I said first.

He had shoulder surgery recently, that's why he wasn't throwing back imo. I don't think he can ever get back to his best which is a shame, he's a European level fighter now.

One thing though, if he is actually physically capable of returning to his old form and can get past these injury issues with his shoulder, I think he is such an ego maniac and hates George Groves so much that if anything can light a fire under his a**, it's Groves post-fight tweet. Really wouldn't surprise me if he comes roaring back and hellbent on one more fight with Groves to try and decapitate him.

Conversely, that tweet could end his career or even his life. Lol, just brutal.

I see early reports say he has gone to hospital with a broken nose sustained in the 4th round.

So thats one of the early excuses.

I think he will also change trainer, as he made a comment post fight that hinted at that.

In truth though age, injuries and a long boxing career has taken its toll on him. He has visibly slipped a couple of levels backwards from where he was and even if he works hard and gets confidence again to be more active- I just dont see him making it back to the level he was at ever again.

This. I didn't see the fight, but I'm not surprised. The guy has talent, but seems to just go through the motions and is content with doing just enough. In a cut throat sport like Boxing just enough won't keep you on top very long.

He did keep dabbing at his nose early on but braking your nose is **** all in boxing happens all the time

Looked as though something was seriously wrong . He didn't throw any punches move his head or feet at all like he usually does . Maybe he hit his peak and Jak finished him off .

Wouldn't surprise me if the jack fight took something out of him.

He took a hellacious beating and IMO lost the fight 8-4. 7-5 being generous.

Plus he's always been one of those guys with plenty of skill but never ties it together consistently. He lacks motivation and mindset. Content to do the bare minimum to win.

I didn't even bother watching it, I watched the highlights of the the amazing incredible Tottenham Hotspur I recorded on Sky+.

I thought DeGale would win with ease but I thought it would be rather boring, anyway I got a few texts saying "did you just watch that" and a couple "LOL's"

Didn't have a clue wtf why were talking about until one text said "I always told you DeGale was turd (my word)".

I'm actually quite shocked and genuinely surprised. Not sure what he does now, long way back in my opinion because of the WSS.
