No more digging down deep. I don't think Siri can Hulk up in this one. He's going to try here in the ninth, can already see him operating the hand-crank, but there's no more jack in that box. Román is coming on too strong, has already tasted Orlando's power, and is determined as hell.

Great fight but Salido is done at the top level... Should have cashed out against Loma

    Round 1 Salido 10-9 Close
    Round 2 Roman 10-9 Close
    Round 3 Salido 10-9 Close
    Round 4 Roman 10-8
    Round 5 Roman 10-9
    Round 6 Roman 10-9 Close
    Round 7 Roman 10-9
    Round 8 Roman 10-8
Round 9 Roman wins by KO

Salido started out well, but faded, Roman got him along the ropes and ripped him to pieces, Salido wilted and fell to the mat, Byrd waves it off.

The Younger Salido stopped The Older Salido.:ggg

Had Salido losing. He’s 37. It’s almost over for him.

    Salido beaten to submission.

He should have taken the payday with Loma and retired. Now there is little interest.

God I hated picking Roman for the KO tonight, but I couldn't have picked a better guy to finally stop him.

Thank You Orlando, you can retire now. Congrats Micky, you're both beasts.:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

Loma-Siri II was a pointless formality, so I'm hoping this puts an end to any lingering talk of it.

Much rather see him fight Berchelt or jump to 135 for Mikey or Linares.

Both should retire this instant. This is a fight neither is topping again, their mutual last FOTY candidate ever. Salido is pushing 40 but in ring years Román is right behind him despite chronologically being "only" in his early thirties. I'd hate to see either fed to Loma - would just result in them copping prolonged abuse (since Lomachenko is too light-hitting and both of these guys too damn stubborn and durable to have it end in a clean early knockout) while it does nothing for Loma.
