Something awful is happening in the minds of Loma opponents and it will continue to happen because it has become almost acceptable to quit against Vasyl . Top level opponents that are used to inflicting damage and their will on others are rendered totally ineffective against Loma.I have never seen anything like it. I wish one of the past four opponents that quit could truthfully articulate why they chose to. Until that happens my guess is the thought of being played with like a toy for even one more round was unbearable.
I don't know mate, ive seen African tribes wearing man bags and makeup like some of my pals. Bloody lovin it they were too !
In Sosa's defense, his team pulled the plug on it, not him. He wasn't winning a minute of it, but he'd have come out every single round if it were up to him.
Loma was landing clean jabs and body shots. He was quicker than Rigo and his footwork was much better. I think when Rigo saw his plan b was not working (fouling) and lost that point, and Loma was connecting more and harder, he said chingalamadre and got the hell outta there.
The fact the 4 opponents in a row have quit should tell people something. What he is doing is much worse than "beating them up". Fighters generally don't quit because they are getting beat up. Getting beat up isn't a big deal. It's just a bit of pain. Anyone can deal with 45 mins of pain if needed. Fighters suffer worse on the treadmill than getting beat up for 12 rounds. What he is inflicting on them is cruel and unusual punishment. It's torture. It is not simply domination, leaving but a chance of a big punch or something. It is not even domination while taking away the chance of turning it around. It is taking away even the aspiration of dignity. You can't even take a chance and go out in a blaze of glory, you can't even try and clam up and endure. You have no control whatsoever. You can't see anything that he's doing. You are reduced to the level of a dumb animal being hunted for sport by a spaceship with lazers. You are just endlessly reacting, to seemingly random events, straining every sinew and braincell without a moments respite, the demands you can never hope to even identify let alone meet increasing exponentially by the minute. Every cell in your body is screaming "stop doing whatever the **** this is", because you are overloading it with undefined and unachievable task requests by the second. You are trying as hard as you have ever tried in your life, but you are doing nothing. Because there is nothing to be done. And when, finally, your torment intensifies so relentlessly that it outstrips your ability to process it, the physical and mental stresses have become too much for any man, the body and mind switch to idle, and there is no option but to quit. If you don't, you'll be standing there dribbling on yourself and crying soon enough. A beating is nothing compared to this. As for Rigo, I don't think he even experienced anything like this. He is better than most, and probably realised almost immediately that there was nothing to be done here. So he figured he'd foul for a few rounds and then get the hell out of dodge as soon as the referee took that lifeline away from him. I was a bit dramatic with the description I guess, but was trying to illustrate the fact that being completely overwhelmed mentally and physically is much worse than having a sore face.
At the time, it looked to me like he just got bodied. Admittedly, I was still new to boxing and probably didn't know what I was watching.
"When I lost a match I broke down in frustration. Today players lose, take a selfie and put it on the Internet. They make me sick." - Gennaro Gattuso
Notice they are both high rated fighters and the lesser fighters Loma beat up didn't show any sign of quitting. So I think it's mostly due to pride and how much they have to loose in the future. Rigo for example, people would still want to see how he will do against a Frampton, Santa Cruz or Russell. Imo had Rigo been beaten up those potential matches wouldn't be as attractive as his fans have excuses for this lose.
No one is going to outbox Lomachenko, that much is known. The only ones that will beat him are the type of fighters who can push him and keep the pressure. Outboxing him, not a chance.
