Fighter of the year? Loma, clearly.

    Fight of the year?

Best performance of the year? Loma/Rigo. Never seen elite talent handled that easy.

    Trainer of the year?

Division of the year? Cruiserweight for me. Unbelievably loaded!

    Prospect of the year?

    Great thread.

    Fighter: Loma/AJ/GGG/SR

FOTY: Probably AJ vs Wlad in terms of overall spectacle.

    Performance:

    Trainer:

    Division: Cruiser

    Should also add:

    KO of the year
    Robbery
    Disappointment
    Worst fighter
    Worst fight

    Etc.

At work so I'll update later.

    Fighter of the Year:
Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. A great win over a great fighter is what matters most. Ward's close to my call with his mastery of Kovalev in the rematch, but SSR beat p4p great Gonzalez TWICE. He removed any doubt about the first fight when he had his way with him and destroyed him in the rematch. Lomachenko with three impressive wins could deserve it, but he had two sub-par opponents and one who quit and was smaller, didn't have a great win. Crawford deserves mention too, dominated the underrated Diaz, destroyed Indongo to unify the division, but again neither was a really threatening opponent. GGG and Canelo are out of consideration not only because neither clearly won their fight, but because GGG's other fight against Jacobs was also disputable and underwhelming, and Canelo's other fight against Chavez was a horrible mismatch.

    Fight of the Year:
Joshua-Klitschko. The power, the knockdowns, the shifts in momentum, the desire, especially the heart Wlad showed in losing, shutting up criticism of earlier lackluster fights, the story of the young man beating the old champ, the circus spectacle in front of one of the biggest crowds ever. I'm not a huge fan of the big boys so hard for me to acknowledge it, but just can't go against this one. Bon mots: Rungvisai-Gonzalez 1, Canelo-Golokin, Khytrov-Aleem, Salido-Roman.

    Performance of the Year:
Lomachenko against Sosa. This performance was the most complete display of Loma's talents and an artistic masterpiece. Just jawdropping how he would disappear and reappear, find angles to land from nowhere. Even the imaginative showboating, which was like commentary on his boxing performance. Yes he impressively outboxed the boxer, but the Rigo quit job robbed Loma of an impressive win, there isn't so much to go on about. Watch Loma vs Sosa again instead! Ward beating Kovalev was the best win of the year for me to call him fighter of the year, but Ward's 'performance' doesn't compare to Loma's against Sosa.

    Knockout of the Year:
Changing my choice from Garcia against Zlaticanin to Jermell Charlo against Hatley.

    Upset of the Year:
Ali over Cotto. I think this should objectively be given to the guy who won as the largest betting underdog. Using proboxingodds.com as a reference, Horn was about 5/1 against Pacquiao, while Ali was between 6/1 and 10/1 against Cotto. I'll look up the odds of other upsets as I think of them.

Best Losing Effort of the Year:
Luke Campbell against Linares. Campbell showed really classy skills against his best opponent, came back after being knocked down and cut to frustrate Linares and win the middle rounds, he'll remain a top player at and around lightweight for years.

    Worst Performance of the Year:
Rigondeaux against Lomachenko. Good riddance, just hide under a rock for the rest of your life now Guillermo.

    Robbery of the Year:
Sosa against Gamboa. Lost my biggest wager backing Sosa here, really pissed off still. Gamboa barely did anything the second half, Sosa dominated the last four rounds, and Gamboa suffered a knockdown and a penalty deduction. Yet Gamboa was outrageously gifted the win.

    Comeback of the Year:
Kovalev. Came back after losing the rematch to Ward to show he's as confident and good as ever in smashing Shabransky. What are the other options?

Positive Business Trend of the Year:
The World Boxing Super Series. Best on best tournaments in two divisions every year? Yes! Its existence deserves end of year props. We wouldn't get Usyk-Briedis, Gassiev-Dorticos, and Groves-Eubank otherwise, and I'm super excited for those fights, before the finals keep the great matchups coming.

Joshua shouldn't be in contention for fighter of the year. Great and important fight against Klitschko, but not an impressive win. And he looked bad against Takam. Less deserving of consideration than Golovkin and Canelo, who displayed their elite qualities taking on the best, even if it didn't result in clear wins.

Its going to be pretty funny when people 50 years from now look back at Andre ward fights and see he either lost or testicle punched his way to victory

he looked bad against takam? he won every round and forced a stoppage.

maybe not fighter of the year but it wasn't a bad performance at all.

i'd even give a mention to badou jack, drew (robbed) against degale and smashed cleverly to pieces.

You can't give 10 trophy to one person. It's not the academy awards lol.
Personally my fighter of the year is Lomachenko.
3 white flags in a year.
    Consecutive 4 like grand slams
