Don't expect a boxing media person who's never been in the ring to tell you why.

I think to understand it best; I believe need to spend some time in the ring.
Boxing is the ultimate truth sport. And to be truthful, there are dozens of varieties of getting your will bent to the point of abandonment.

We've all seen boxing matches where fighters opt out of doing what they need to win, limit risk, or play stinker to go the distance. We've also seen fighters take breaks, either mentally or physically.

In a way, all of the above is a lower level form of quitting.

We've also seen many winners who opt to play it safe and coast to victory if their opponents choose to stop doing what they need to win.

What does this have to do with Lomachenko? I'll tell you. He won't allow his opponent to opt out of attacking or play defensive/stink out the joint. He won't let opponents take moments off to catch their breaths. And recently he won't even allow his opponents to clinch.

    No, no no!

He won't take his foot off the gas pedal either. Instead, he ups the ante with world class speed and skills forcing his opponent to confront him for the full three minutes with the ability to hit you with any punch at any distance, in addition to the best footwork ever that allows him to quickly circle around and attack fighters blind side.

When you take away fighters choices to play it " play it safe " it must be an incredibly unfordable feeling in the ring.

So they eventually end up quitting.

Interesting point. Never thought of it that way. So in other words another fighter may allow a defeated man to coast a decision loss. But Loma won't. He's mot a big puncher, but he wants to win the rounds bigger and bigger. Loma refuses a concession from his opponent. He doesn't accept that. He continues to press.

Erik Morales was the same way, but I don't remember his opponents quit like this. Well they would quit after taking punishment, But he was more of a physical will breaker. And Loma is more a psychologocal will breaker. Loma opponents quit with all their faculties, which is rare and unique.

When you cover up against Loma, it must feel like your surrounded. You think you've got it covered then he spins/circles and your back to being in a vulnerable position straight away, no respite. Its like he exhausts them mentally, putting them in a place that they could never train for. They over think with out doing anything and eventually they have a moment of honesty while their wills low and BAM, its a quit job ! Some of his opponents wouldn't have an ache or pain or graze to show they've been in a fight, and probably quit with a decent amount of gas left in the tank. Its all mental. Hes the sharpest thinking fighter I've seen ever

Right. Lomo has a top chin, confidence and he just knows he'll either position himself to land and not be hit or beat his man to the punch with world-class quickness.

Most recent example: Rigo was covering up. So what does Lomo do? He uppercuts him three times in the blink of an eye, landing one that splits the gloves. OUCH. It was at that point where Rigo was mentally cashed in. If you miss on an uppercut in boxing, you are open to a counter. Yet Rigo didn't take that chance. His will to fight back was already taken.

Some fighters can take away an opponent's offense, and but very few can take away their opponents offense and defense, and force him to fight for 3 minutes.

The fighters who allow themselves to coast to win, usually aren't very confident in their ability to take a punch, or very aggressive by nature to begin with.

    I'll throw this in:

Lomachenko is an action fighter and an entertainer. He'd happily humiliate you to entertain the paying public.

There's nothing more demoralizing than missing everything while the other guy is hitting you from all angles.

Combine that with Loma's cruel streak of relentlessly attacking any weakness he discovers, and you've got the recipe to destroy the psyche of fighters.

Wlad and Hopkins accomplished similar mental destructions through different means, but Lomachenko absolutely relishes it. He doesn't just hate his own weaknesses (that he's strived to eliminate); he hates his opponent's weaknesses. He exploits them mercilessly because he's scornful they exist. He's genuinely resentful his opposition can't push him to a higher level.

It's psychologically crushing to feel like the guy across from you has the ability to judge and punish you for your boxing imperfections, and pursues that mission like he's oathbound to it.

Yeah, he gives you what you want, he comes to dominate his opponents. Could never understand when Mayweather was in complete control, why he never upped it to stop opponents. With his skill set it was criminal to watch !

Did you notice how Loma not once showed frustration at Rigo's dirty tactics? He had to really want to go in there and put a physical ass kicking on him, but Rigo was too negative for Loma to really land a lot of hard flush shots. Rigo was in there essentially trolling Lomachenko. Trying to get him to have a bad negative emotional reaction and lose his composure. But Loma never bent his will, not even for a single moment.

After the 6th round and the embarrassing schooling and point deduction Rigo turned to face Loma to gauge Loma's emotional state. But Vasyl was stoic. Loma didn't turn to meet his gaze, he put his back towards Rigo and walked to his corner like it was just another round, another fight. That broke Rigo. He knew that Loma would not fold. That was he was going to come out for another 6 rounds of embarrassment.
