This. Idk how you can choose DLH, Mosley, Mayweather and Pacquiao over Morales, Barrera, Jmm and Pac.

hence why I say WHO they fought and WHEN
Martinez was an injury-riddled faded version who was ripe for the picking
and you're still saying "yeah but cotto was a legend because he beat a guy who beat Williams and pavlik"

by that way of thinking, as an aussie, danny green must be the greatest boxer of all time!
he knocked out roy jones in round 1, and jones beat Hopkins and toney

Lomachenko is becoming a huge superstar!!!!!!! I hope he fights the other champions at 130, then moves up to 130 and fight Mikey Garcia. Garcia did not have the power at 140, I think he was disappointed in his performance, will go back down for now.....................

Fair enough. Martinez was faded which I agree with, but P Williams wasnt when Quintana beat him with only one fight between that fight and the Cotto loss, so your point goes out of the window there.
Your post about Green is also silly as Cotto beat Martinez when he was a champ. Green beat Jones at a completely new weight for Jones and was removed from being a champ.
When Martinez was beaten by Cotto as a champ it was during Martinez reign where he had beaten Williams, Pavlik ans several top undefeated MWs whereas with Jones it was not during his reign.

So we come back to Cotto and you havent made one argument to cottos resume except Martinez was faded and I gave you examples of fighters Cotto beat who went on to do well

the only true greats in and around weights cotto fought at were Floyd and pacman
by trying to pump up a fighter's claim to greatness by riding on the coat tails of the achievements of fighters he beat, is not only bizarre, but it just exposes that his own resume is wanting

my post about green was suppose to be silly. the premise of a fighter somehow being lifted to a higher status by virtue of the achievements of fighters he beat is ridiculous

This would be true if morales and Marquez actually fought, so I have to disagree with you bro. Truth of the matter is there will only ever be 1 group named the fab 4.. Leonard, hearns, ,Hagler, Duran.

What rubbish. If Cotto beat fighters who went on to do well. Thats not riding on their achievements at all. Cotto has his own in being a 4 weight world champ.
How can Cottos resume be wanting when he beat so many other world champs or fighters who went on to win world titles? Sure you can say titles dont mean anything and there are occasions where you need to look at who they beat but Cottos resume speaks for itself. You dont have all those names on your resume if you arent decent.
So you dont think Marquez was a great? Marquez had fought at LWW and WW. Or 3 weight champ Mosely? You dont think Canelo in being a LMW and MW champ isnt doing well and looking like he may go on?

The thing that is bizarre is that you have all these opinions (which are fine to have), but can never find any way to back up what you argue. I guess you wouldnt think Cotto is perhaps faded late in his career because that wouldnt suit your argument but my argument is simple -

    Cotto 4 weight world champ
    20-6 in world title fights
Took the 0 from several decent fighters
Beat at least 7 fighters who went on to win a world title
Came back from defeats to beat other good fighters

there are half a major dozen belts in each weight division
cotto was never the best in any division
explain to me how a fighter who has never been the best in any division he has fought at can genuinely be considered a great of the sport?
    it's that simple.

Many fighters can often not be considered the best in a division but still become legends.
Some divisions it could be considered debatable with Pacquiao for being the best in many of the divisions he was in.
Was he the best FW with Marquez there? or best WW with Floyd around? Work it out.
Cotto became the premier MW. Like it or not he did.
Cotto also arguably had done more than many WWs around 07 and was rated #1 with Floyd as champ, yet Floyd that year only fought once at the weight against a blown up LWW whereas Cotto had beaten several other top WWs.
Do you think Cotto would have lost to Hatton?

Had they all fought, I reckon there may have been a case though Mayorga might have something to say about it
